Side mount unit, won’t always drop to position to “engage” start without manipulation . I can’t seem to see where this adjustment is covered anywhere.
Anyone on here been through this?

There is a small allen under the handle, I’ve found on a couple that if it’s a little too loose it doesn’t want to sit exactly at N. I’d try to add a half turn at a time and move it back and forth as you do, you should feel when it locks to N

Accessible without dissemble I hope?
Yea the bottom of the shifter handle is where the allen is, as well the throttle handle will have one but that would typically be on the back side of that handle.

I have this setup on my boat too. The Allen screw on the bottom is used to keep the throttle from falling back to idle when released. Sometimes I also have to slightly move the shifting lever around a little to hit the safety switch on the backside of the assembly. When I called Hardin Marine I was told that the safety switch has a little bit of adjustment ability, I just haven't had a chance to mess with it and see if it helps.

Last one I had I disconnected the NSS, I got tired of playing find neutral. Made sure I reconnected before I sold the boat.

Did you ever figure this out? I’m dealing with same problem after getting the controls installed on my ultra. Finding neutral to start the boat is super difficult but finding neutral once the boat is running there is no problem.

Same issue any fix, can never find the sweet spot to turn the boat over. Took me and hour on the water yesterday.

I had my mechanic do some adjusting and it’s a lot better.

I pulled my panel off and had my mechanic do some adjusting and it got better. If you get stuck for that long just turn and hold your ignition and slowly adjust and wait for it to hit neutral and it will start right up.
