Looking forward to seeing how this runs! Appears to have a step. Is this a 270 bottom or heat bottom? Will it have a windshield similar to a 290?

Looks like a Heat bottom with a Hallett top. Curious to see how this one comes out.

So,,,is the 275 just a number, or is the wetted surface twenty seven and one half feet with a LOA of 28’3”?

Or, is the LOA 27’5”?

I’m thinking it’s a bottom they already have or they would have been on the water crafting it up. It appeared they molded it up pretty quick, with pics of them modifying the top only. I could be wrong though, not a boat builder just going on my observations.

Thanks for pointing that out captain obvious.

Hallet buyers are very brand loyal. You saw how bad they got thier panties in a bunch when Nordic bought Hallet and the thought oh Nordic building a Hallet was thought of a as a sin.

So they go put a Nordic and Hallet together which could eliminate potential customers.

Nordic V’s run good MPH so that’s helps. I just think it’s risky is all.

That’s an interesting move. How do you market it as a Hallet if it is half Nordic?

If it says Hallett on the side and looks like a Hallett, than it's a Hallett. Why would someone what to buy a 2018 boat with a 1980's bottom? The Heat bottom smoke's the old Hallett bottom in every aspect.

Personally I think they should be calling the boat's Haldic's!:)

I like the idea of it being a walk thru. The 270 never appealed to me because I hate crawling through the cuddy. It does have its benefits but for me and young kids, I’m all about open bow walk thrus. I see nothing wrong with using a more efficient bottom. Hell I’ll let you graph a new bottom to my 240 anytime. I think this boat has a lot of promise. Can’t wait to see it finished.

Excited to see this build completed. Timeless Hallett lines with Nordic bottom hull designs, sounds like an all around great setup!

perhaps because not everyone wants a step bottom boat?

It is an interesting question though, maybe any of the members here who bought a non stepped straight bottom 27 could chime in with their reasoning?
What ever the reasoning may be, they seemed to sell quite a few over the years.

Looks great, will they continue to be built with the teak floor?

That looks cheap, like laminate flooring cheap. Please don't put that in this boat.

The pattern is not something I would choose, but it is Sea Dek. This boat was built with a full inner liner also.

Man, I’m bummed about the windscreen on this. Part of what was identifiable on the Nordic Heat was the windscreen and same with the Hallett 270. But now the two are intermixed and it just looks like a Nordic Heat to me.

Granted, I’m a Hallett diehard and so it will always be tough for me to see a model evolve outside of the customary Hallett lines, but I was hoping the top deck on this would scream Hallett...

The good news is the deck still retains more of the Hallett look than the Heat. If there was a way to trim the height of that windscreen down a bit, it might help it look more like a Hallett up top.

I agree with you on that, it might just be the height that throws me off. It’ll be interesting to see it once it’s in the water.

This is just like when they come out with a model redesign of your favorite car, it takes a little getting used to.
I personally think this could become as popular as the 240 WTOB Hallet, tall fat old guys like me don’t like to crawl through mid cabins:D

Give it a little time I think it’ll grow on you. Pictures in rigging don’t do it justice, I’m waiting for a nice outdoor profile shot

Ima thinkin' Nordic has another top seller here. They're gonna be shelving ALL deck boat models as this new model will lead the pack and change the game. Yup, gonna be puttin the deck boat molds out in the sun to shrink and fade (or should it be "fad") away...Just, my observation.

The boat looks great BTW. I likey...

What "lines" are you referring to? Graphic lines are not "Timeless Hallett", neither is the bottom, or the bow that now arches down as it approaches the front. This boat may be a better build in some ways than an original Hallett but I disagree with your statement that this has "Timeless Hallett lines". Just my observations.

o_O. I'm having a love/hate:mad::) relationship with this boat. I really want to see the finished product, in the wild, with a full shot side view. It's like looking at the new 2019 Chevy Silverado and deciding if you like how it looks. You know its going to be a cool truck, but are really not sure if you like it.

The closer I look, the more I see a 28' Nordic Rage/Heat walk-thru open bow with Hallett rear-quarter panels on it, (and that was the only carryover, the 270 deck sides from the side vents back). Put a 'caddy' grill on a Suburban and call it an Escalade, it's still a Suburban. Slap a Hallett emblem on the side, its still a Nordic. Not a quality JAB, but a brand identity JAB. I don't agree with people seeing "timeless Hallett lines" its all Rage/Heat from all angles except from the rear & rear 3/4 perspectives, when Hallett glimpses come through. Gel scheme, is definitely not "timeless Hallett". I hope the team is adding more Hallett-esk touches in the riggin' along the way, so there is more brand identity to it, rather than just the side emblem and steering wheel cap.

The manufacturing updates and fit/finish updates are going to be welcomed, over the arguably sound but outdated assembly/lamination, fit/finish practices from the past models. I just feel that some identity has been lost in the process.

Still really like the overall idea of the package, and offering a larger than 25', walk-thru open bow. This boat is a good two-foot-itis option for people with 24's and 25's. Nice to have a big-v in the line up that isn't a MCOB. I think it will be a contender and fits nicely into both boat line-ups. The established customer base is going to be pretty split for a while.

in my opinion, Nordic wasted its money on buying Hallett if this is all they plan to do. Is that their answer to eliminating competition? if anything I'd say use the OG Hallett molds and put Nordic on the side.
Hallett as we know it is gone if this is what they plan to produce from the molds they bought. this is nordic styling and rigging with Hallett on the side of the boat......

Did it ever occur to some of you that Hallett is trying to find a new market demographic?
Other namebrand manufacturers have gone off the reservation with regard to design and it seems worked out well for them with their new models.
It seems like a lot of you are butt hurt over the fact that the wrong person purchased the assets of Hallett so nothing they do will ever seem pure
Hallett.
I think Nordics purchase of Hallett is great, better than the brand going away forever.
If someone wants to buy classic Hallett all they need to do is show up with a big wad of cash.
I guess I just don’t understand all the derogatory comments because it doesn’t look like a Hallett of 30 years ago.

For those that feel the end is here. Hallett can still build the 270 with your choice of straight or step hulls, classic gel scheme, closed bow or MCOB, teak laminate flooring (on top of a composite floor liner), slab transom, bolt on swim platform and any engine choice from Merc, Teague, Alexi...heck, one could put a Volvo in it if one desires - but please don't put a Volvo in it - and still have a Hallett HIN & still built in the USA. This new 275 just a fills gap between the 255 and the 290, and in no way represents the end of Hallett as the Hallett faithful followers may fear. I like it. Can't wait to see it on the water soon.

Edit: I just noticed the cockpit floor space....immense. Dang, could probably do U shape seating like in the outboard deck boats
