Yes they are good boats. What type of boating and where do you boat?

I had one with a 2.4 Bridgeport and loved it. Sometimes I think I screwed up by selling it. Handled rough water great.

Are you looking at a V-drive or I/O? The V-drive is awesome. I have not been in an I/O but have heard they just don't turn as well. They kinda slide if you will. Again, I do not have experience in an I/O. Quite a bit in the V-drive only.

We like to go to Parker and havsue and run up river to topock and pirates how do they handle rough water

This is what we do with ours all summer long. With the tabs down you can do 25-35mph through true rough water. Talking holiday weekend water

True 3ft chop is about the max they can take.

A few weeks ago when the outboard church did the run to pirates. We did the run and hit the rough stuff in basin that turned a few boats around. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t exactly enjoyable, but the hull is more than capable.

Great parker or upper river boat.

For the size they handle well but if anyone tells you they are going to be comfortable on a windy blown out day on Havasu they are lying. On a regular Havasu day you will be fine.

Somewhat small interior with not a ton of freeboard.

Personally I think vecotors and 210's need more tab than the factory Bennets. I wasn't as impressed with there stock handling as most and big tabs made our 210 very cabable even in nasty water.

You will get back no doubt. I take it easy. Not beating the boat or passengers up. I run hardly any tab floating the boat in rough water. Difference though is mine is an open bow vs your lighter closed deck.

True 3 footers in a Vector does not sound fun.

That has to make a difference....My boat just slapped going over wakes when tabbed town with the Bennets.

Now I can tab down trim up and cut through things at a pretty good clip.

That’s the everyone put a vest on threshold lol

Edit: I will say we’ve had them crashing over the bow in Powell and havasu. Boats always got us home/ to safety.

On the vector front I have been in a few of them. Wally Clearmans old ski race vector was one of the best running 21’ boats I have ever driven.. it was a v drive built by GT performance back in the day and when my buddy Trevor has it I ran it 5-6 different times.

I have been in a couple different I/O’s and one ran ok and the other two weren’t impressive to me at all.

I’m not sure if they built some of them more stout than others but it sure felt like it between the different I/O’s I have been in.

Wish I had some. Last I heard Scott and Norm Steven's had it in havasu. Ran into Scott one day and said he sold it to a guy who put anew motor on It and tried to race it. ? Was white, maroon, red, yellow, and orange stripes back to back buckets with bench.

I just picked one up. Went from a 1000 plus hp Daytona to the vector. I have a place on Parker strip and that is where we boat 95 percent of the time. The boat is great parking at the bars and skiing. Real easy to wipe down at the end of the day. Handles the rough water decent but have to pick your times. I do miss running 80 plus over 3ft chop on holiday weekends but is nice down sizing to a smaller boat. The vector has been solid so far after I got the drive and a few other things sorted out. This one has a 510 cubic inch motor and I have ran it right under 80 with a 24 pitch. Not sure if I would want anything slower than this. Alot of fun pulling the skier around..Different boating style for sure.

If your around 80 I would guess a 26-27 would be more what you are looking for as far as prop pitch. Assuming it’s a 1.5 ratio

I had two of them and loved them both. Great riding and handling boat on the river, also do very good in Havi chop if you had the balls to ride the top of the chop, really amazing. Lighter layup than Schiada's and they seem to get used more often vs sitting on their trailers ( :) ). Very reliable depending on condition of the boat as with any boat you have inspect it and if you know the rep of the seller. Anyone that tells you Vectors are not well built boats has no clue about boats. Are there better, of course but Halletts have a great reputation of their own.

Yes I was going to try a 26 and see if it still pulls out the skier well. Right now it’s set up great for skiing.

Some of them were built with thin floors and tiny stringers. Some weren’t.

What's the deal with the bottoms on the Vector's? I've seen Vector's with two different bottoms, one is more of a vee and the other is more of a rounded keel.

I like mine. Have had it for seven years. It is a 1988 and has zero stress cracks. Spends a good deal of time at Lake Powell and handles rough water fairly well. I don't understand a previous comment about turning; give it some throttle and it turns just fine. Mine is a 365 HP 454 and gps is 73-75 mph when the water has a nice little wind chop.
