Congratulations! We had our 54th this year. I don’t say celebrated because we never looked at it as a day to celebrate because we never expected anything else. Good times and difficult times, it’s all part of growing up and making it work. I often say the reason we stayed together is because we grew up together while in actuality, it was because she put up with all my BS. I saw her for the first time in high school in my senior year (1968) when she walked into the health office. I’m sure my jaw dropped to the floor when she walked into the room but she didn’t even know I was in the room even though I was standing right in front of her. I’m one lucky SOB!

SLO was a typical 70s small town downtown was the American Graffiti style “Cruise” every nite I had my TR4 that nite (left my SS 409 home) pulled in to the Foster Freeze next to a VW bug full of cute girls .......... She was the One

Congratulations. 50 years ago, Foster Freeze in SLO? I was living in Morro Bay in those years, running sportfishing boats out of Avila and MB. Back then it was cowboys, fishermen and nuclear power plant builders and workers. Great place to live.

My Family originally moved to Morro Bay from the midwest in 58' , had home on the Strand , Then to SLO in the late 50s Grew near the bowling alley , Wife was born and raised in Los Osos , I later years I used to surf the Rock , Standard oil piers and Cayucos Lots of great memories , The recently demolish FF in SLO Half My extended families worked at Diablo . I know loads of folks from Morro Bay too

I worked for the Sato family of Arroyo Grande at Port San Luis sportfishing, ran the 60’ Marauder. Out of Virg’s in MB I ran the 100’ New Salty Dog. Have friends who still live in MB. The Harbor Hut and Happy Jack’s were the watering holes in those days. End of the Wharf at Avila was another good spot.
