Kid was doing donuts in an empty parking lot, who hasnt done that at some point? He got caught, was super respectful with law enforcement...got arrested only because Florida is cracking down on the "street takeover" type activity....had a fake id, again, very commonplace for "kids" that age...some moto folks are going in so hard on the guy just for the fact they dont like him or his dad...

Heard this a couple of days ago, LOL. Now we see who he really is. Brilliant on a dirt bike, but too young to handle the fame. There have been many youngsters however that have promoted the sport as role models, he's just not one of them. I'm not a fan but do hope he gets it together soon.

Meanwhile, his daddy has to cash in and post clips of their Audi R8 doing donuts as click-bait for their family youtube channel. Good example there dad......
Come on Jerry. Shit, I taught my kid how to do donuts in a parking lot. I’m sure you’ll do the same if you already haven’t with your son.

His dad did the same thing so that his arrest would be in the news instead of Pastrana spanking him. I don’t like him but I think it was a publicity stunt. Welcome to the danger zone 😂😂😂 supercross’s bad boy

The hate on this kid is comical.

You all fucked off at his age and did stupid shit. Imagine the shit you would have done if you had money. No toss in cameras and social media. Half of us would be in jail.

I had an S10 doing donuts in parking lots. Shit if I had his car I would be doing much worse.

Does no one remember that Hogans son killed another kid while street racing? He is out walking free, yet here we are complaining about this.

Also the headline is “ street racing”

He was caught doing donuts. lol calm down.

Wake me up when he is going 150 mph with a beer between his legs.

Don't have to do beer between the legs anymore we have cup/beer holders all over the car now.

Kids being kids. Doesn't sound as terrible as the street take over bullshit.

By the way, for you Motor cross peeps. If you haven't seen this, do yourself and favor and watch it. The best / coolest documentaries about the 90's / early 2000's freestyle MC scene I've ever seen. Some good takes on Deegan and Pastrana. Fuckin' brutal shit back in the day.

Kind'a explains why Deegan and the others have to / had to do what they did (or do in this case) to make a buck. Bodies beat up, shelf life is expired, pastrana comes in and just MURDERS the freestyle scene and makes everyone else obsolete. Bottom line, Deegan and a lot of the others just couldn't keep up to the level of the likes like Pastrana. You feel kind'a sorry for those guys when watching this documentary and hearing the stories of what they were going through. This story is VERY comparable to the Bones Brigade documentary where Hawk comes in and just kills it. The drive to compete and win competitions is insane and most can't keep up. Another FANTASTIC documentary

If anyone hasn't seen the Bones Brigade Documentry....Here it is. I never realized how FUCKIN COOL Rodney Mullin is. I mean, all those guys seem cool but something really likeable about Mullin.

From 2000 to 2012 my boys and I spent weekends at every MX track in So. Cal. During their young years ages 10-16, I did my darndest to direct their focus on the calculated side to the sport and not Free Style. They both idolized, Ricky, James, Dungy to name a few. Hydrating the day before, in bed by 9 pm at the track when the Mob was out till midnight. One national at Pala 2011 when my youngest turned intermediate, following the race there was a gathering at the casino, kid headed over to check it out with buddies. Who do you suppose was not on the fray inside? There was Dungey in the lobby with his gallon jug of water. True commitment! This impression has stuck with my son to this day. The stunts these Free style guys perform is nothing short of amazing, I admire them for that. I just don't see all the elements nneded for success in life after moto.

I guess no one remembers the videos of McGrath and Jimmy Button and other riders in the 90's destroying rental cars. We all laughed at it in those days.

If it was done today with social media etc. they would've been labeled spoiled entitled brats.

My brother got caught doing Wheelies on a CB900F down the I17 freeway access road next to Metro Center in 1979 in the middle of the night.

Lost his license for 6 months and had to do 7 days in jail.

I suspect this guy will get off easier.

oh absolutely.....
But my dad didn't try to make money off my arrest 😂
Thats a scumbag move!
When you did it was there an avenue that existed for him to make a buck off your arrest.
He is merely leaning into the kids screw up. No such thing as bad press.

Anyone heard of the Kardashians? That scum bag mom made them all million and billionaires. I may sell out a few morals for 7 figures. Just saying.

I got a call from my daughter a couple of months ago, she put a Chandler police officer on the phone. She told me my daughter was doing donuts in a dirt lot, I acted like I was all pissed off about it to the officer and my daughter. The officer did not write a ticket thankfully, deep down I was chuckling about it though. I had to act mad at my daughter to make a point, but what kid isn't going to do something like this at some point. Danger boy's act is all part of him and his dad's angle for fame, most likely a pretty good kid.

Agreed However he's a washed up done with dude without either of his kids. They are surly paying his bills these days.
That is definately the case - but it doesn't make it OK to try and make a buck off your kid being arrested.
My opinion is it's a scumbag move to publicize your kids arrest for profit.

It's not a big deal that he did donuts.
But his dad using his situation to make money is pretty lame!
Agree to disagree. Who didn’t use him as click bait this past weekend to make money? So why shouldn’t they. Even non supercross YT channels used them as click bait. Brian Deegan is a marketing genius and I wouldn’t put it past them to even had set the whole thing up. Maybe, I don’t know. Just my .02

No way the kids didn't get where they are without mom and dad writing some big checks halie didn't just walk into NASCAR Jimmie Johnson might be the last driver to go to NASCAR with no money from his parents to get him there but his dad knew all the right people to at least get a chance

My kids cost money. Their continued educations I am not paying for but they are still here at home to save from borrowing living expenses.
I pay their living expenses, auto ins, etc as long and they stay in it until they finish.

Making money off them...nope but I don't live the Deegan Lifestyle, only see it from time to time on YouTube.

Normal in most families that want to see their kids accell. Its not what you know but who you know that is the most helpful.

So no one remembers when James Stewart and his buddy on the way to the airport flashed red and blue lights at a car and pulled them over only to find out the whole car was full off LEO’s?
That was bad

Exactly.

You do stupid shit, lose your license for a while, maybe do a weekend or a week in jail and lesson learned.

We can’t keep blaming kids for being disrespectful and pieces of shit if we don’t let them learn about consequences.
You also gotta remember MX riders ain’t usually saints. Everyone single one I’ve met are wild.

I mean seriously right? I was doing burnouts with my son and daughter in my truck last week because they thought it was hilarious. my kid sits on his stacyc and burns out in the driveway all the time because he thinks its fun, I'm sure he will be doing it in a truck once he's 16 too. And as long as he does it in an empty parking lot and isn't putting anyone in danger I would have no problem with it, thats what I was doing at that age! He's a kid that has alot of money and honestly I feel like he has done a great job with it. Not high on drugs or drunk, just a kid with a badass ride having fun. And everyone giving his dad hate for capitalizing on it, I mean come on. If my life and family was in the spot light at all times why would you not capitalize on it? Hell if i could make a youtube right now with my family and kids and start raking in some money off of them I absolutely would. Have a nice little account so my kids can have some badass toys and put the rest in their accounts so they have something when they are older. I don't understand the hate but maybe i'm wrong

Yes, he’s a kid and kids do stupid things. He gets a pass for that. It’s in his bloodline.

But, I would venture to the executives at Yamaha that put cash in his pocket would have a different opinion. I think that’s the big point.

He’s not like most kids. He makes money racing and represents a lot of sponsors. What 19 year old is really ready to handle all that maturely, especially with this type of sport?

Sponsors will have different opinions on this behavior. They pay the bills, and he needs to remember that.

He’s a hell of a racer though and can walk the walk. Just needs to grow up a little bit and daddy Deegan needs to guide that.

I bet not one thing happens with not one of his sponsors....he consistently smokes the competition and he has more fans than any current rider....thats what sponsors pay for....

Took my Daughter to Willow before she was 16. At the time, they had a decent 8 hour defensive driving course that included skid control.

You are spot on. Kids do stupid things, and an elite moto-head is gonna find fun at inappropriate times. How Yamaha reacts is the more interesting story here. Remember how fast Kawasaki dropped Emig for walking around with a bong? Deegan is going to be one of the very best, Yamaha would do well to keep him under contract for the next 10 years. He does need to grow up a bit in a lot of ways, but he is driving an A8 and everybody likes to flex a little once in a while.
My 21 yr old son is driving an 07 Mustang with a Coyote motor in it. So far no tickets but he ain't like me. My first car was a 440 GTX in which I managed to get cited for exhibition of speed after an epic burnout leaving a gas station when I was 16.
I hope Yamaha turns it into a positive for all the little kids/fans out there.

Or when emig got busted with weed on the london bridge while under kawasaki contract?
Kids with money, shit happens. We all did the same, just not famous

Im not a haiden fan. But I do see the talent. This last race was a off weekend for him. 10pm arrest wasn't bad. Probably did one last donut headed home.

Agreed. No problem with a kid burning some donuts and zero comparison to the hoodlum street takeovers. With that said, he and his dad are douche bags. His dad has taught him how to be an arrogant spoiled little punk and cash in on every opportunity. He is a great rider but personally do not care for their arrogance.

They should take some lessons from our Havasu boy Julien Beaumer. Kid is blazing fast, very respectable and being trained by Davi Millsaps another Havasu local. Millsaps instills hard work and respectfulness. JMO

Millsaps is one of my all time favorites. So talented but hated racing. I tried to buy his rv last year but couldn’t swing it
