A little while ago I posted a pic of a Merc motor with the headers on backwards (and some other things)

This is a 24’ Schiada that will be used as a ski boat and family day cruiser.

This is the steering in this post. Single cylinder hydraulic. Note everything on these builds are custom one off and generally no two boats are exactly the same. Even the bilge pump brackets are all custom made.

The stringer rails are the infamous Schiada “Z” rail. Schiada actually had a die made for this and they have it produced for them. They are the only place you can get it and it’s crazy expensive if you have to buy it.. lol

This isn’t a big crazy hp program so it doesn’t need extra bracing on the v drive etc.

Again we can talk about “custom” but if you peel back the layers on most “custom” bost manufacturers their fuel tanks aren’t going to look like these. This is for a 21 RC by the way

Ok, so why the mis matched sea strainers? Maybe just for mock up? Those Allen head ones are a pain in the ass on the water with open access, and these look like they’ll have 1/3 covered by exhaust. Yikes
Maybe it’s just the angle. Idk

It’s a sweet ride, look forward to seeing finished

24’ V Drive! Note the wood inlays, and gel with pinlines on the transom / areas of the Floor etc.. this will be a beautiful boat when it’s done and I look forward to watching it come together! From this stage it can take up to a year to build.. Remember everything is hand machined and one off, and they change the details of the installation from boat to boat.

Damn, every time you post a trip report from Schiada it seems like their craft just couldn't be any better, and then a year later you post a new one and they have managed to take taken it to a new level.

Thanks for doing these, I learn a little more every time.

The sea strainer on the right was still being mocked up and did not have the lid on it . They are very easy to get to the exhaust is not a problem be much higher than the strainers. There is a o- ring built into the TCM strainers so the water is nowhere nere the bolts. We add a run up hung in the side of the strainer so we can run up the boat on the trailer and we can also back flush the strainer to clean it with out taking it apart

I keep saying, I do not get the what and why of the cult following of the Schiada’s, however I’m starting to get it with this thread. May need to look at some others now!!

At this point I wish I had you guys rig my vector, it could have been completed by now, lol:D

Looking great as always! Some day when I’m done throwing money at sub par boats I’ll step up my game

How are the wood pieces laid up? Does that come in sheet form, and cut to fit? Those are artwork and over the top cool!

I'm excited to see this particular 32 hit the water. It's all carbon fiber, quite a bit lighter than mine. It's going to shatter some ego's.
I believe is supposed to test at Havasu next week and then ship to PK the week after.

They are wood veneers that are inlaid into the hulls.

Nope, but unless there is another carbon fiber 32 with boost power motors than it is my fathers boat.

Nice. You guys are going to love it! It's going to be fast. I have the same engines going in mine, only w Quad-Rotor Whipple's instead of the low profile 4.5l you have.

What drives do you have, I was surprised that its being built with B-Max's?

I'm running SCX's w #6 prop shafts. BMax is a great drive. My buddy has BMax's on his 32 and they work really well.

Tony that 24 you had was one of the nicest boats around. This 24' is a very close second especially with the light-colored wood inlays. I wonder what thickness the material is that they use??

So if I remember a conversation in another post in regards to new boat construction and wood vs composite, everyone was pro composite boats yet everyone on here finds no problems with the wood lay up. Do people just pick sides when they want to????

There is nothing wrong with wood if you use it properly, and buy the high quality marine grade ply. It is not cheap, in fact it may be more expensive than certain composites.

I would agree with you. I thought it was funny how people jumped all over the "wood" built boat and how composite was so much better. Yet Shciada and other top notch builders use wood. Just a observation and not a knock on Schiada. They build an amazing boat.
