At least it has a stripper pole.... I mean show up to the sand bar with a bunch of puppies and then introduce the frolicking chicks to the pole.

This guy might actually be a genius. Single 496 in a 30' boat.... don't matter, probably getting river head.

Right! Hey it's still better than my current boat (nil).

That is a 1 owner boat. No one concerned with resale value buys a new boat.

Those murals were probably put on after the boat was made anyway. They may come right off.

If not for a few grand they can go away.

You are buying a boat.. why are you concerned about resale?

I always tell my customers that you don't buy a new boat to sell it, however it's always something to keep in mind for the future. Things in life change; you lose your job, you move to an area where boating is nonexistent, another hobby takes precedence or whatever the case may be. It's always a good idea to build or order something that isn't too far out. Unless that person doesn't give a crap about losing the money.

Anyways, if those are removable graphics (which I highly doubt being a Kachina), they should get rid of them and open up their audience ten fold.

While I agree with you.. if resale was top of mind for a particular person, a new high end custom boat is not something that person would choose to buy brand new.

That person would buy a used boat with dogs on it for cheap and then have the dogs removed.. now that is thinking of resale value :)

It's very possible that artwork is airbrushed over the gel and a can of Easy Off could save the day.

I remember some time back when I was thinking about a new boat and called advantage boats for trade in or consign , they stopped me quick and asked what color is it. They didn't want some hot mess of colors. Can't blame them

What’s amazing is it took 3 people to make this happen:
-a man with an idea
-a friend who said “hell yea....do it!”
-a shop to share his vision

WTF

They must have learned something from all their own pre 2005 gel schemes!

Yeah Advantages are right up there with the odd gel schemes. I still see it on some of their newer boats.

Does that go for ALL Advantage boats?

I don't know how this guy chose between this gel scheme and his original idea for a full raider's theme

Lol kind of true.

A buddy was at advantage last week cash in hand to buy and model, was looking at the Xflight 29 and 34. He wanted the same gel scheme and interior as the new all white M44, simple and classy. They said “oh I wouldn’t do that” so he said no problem and left. Then scooped up a magic septor from MOM to hold him over until he decides what to build.

Btw...Thank you Paul for taking care of my buddy Josh.

A buddy has been looking at this boat and keeps sending me pics i just laugh at the dogs but have you ever seen a Kachina without some sort of goofy shit on it? Beyond the dogs I’d say this has to be the prettiest Kachina I’ve ever seen if those are painted on then seller needs to have removed and then up the price 5-7k

The newer ones look great. The older ones (pre mid 2k) can get pretty bad though

I finally figured out why you see so many bad Gel schemes on HTM's....saw on their facebook page that they used to give the prospective buyer a drawing of the boat with 3 different views, and a package of colored pencils, and tell them "design your gel!". Then there is a disclaimer on the page that says "we are not responsible for the outcome of you designing your gel, and variances may occur during production".

They recommended against it, or wouldn't do it? Seems like the buyer is the boss ultimately, i'd be surprised if they passed up a sale over a gel / interior scheme reqeust

The worst was the lakers boat a few years back, pretty sure that was a wrap, but fuck, who does that. Fortunately that one had a fire when someones Jhericurl got to close to a header and caught fire. It burned to the waterline just outside of the channel.

I wouldn't want my name on the side of something hideous. Just as I wouldn't want to develop the Kachina mystique of cool boat horrible gel choices. Also wouldn't want to get stuck with something that I could never sell if the customer didn't come up with the cash.

Hard to tell in pics how much of it is paint job and how much is gel scheme.
They were notorious for mixing the two together.

It may be possible to get the paint off without screwing up the in the mold gel scheme. If done it might not be a bad looking boat.
Then again someone could just wrap it.

Let’s just say he didn’t like what they were saying, willing or capable of doing and decided to move on. Not here to bash Advantage.
