We ran it this past weekend. Threw some Marvel Mystery Oil in the tank and it ran like a top. Black soot all over the transom but we are closing in on running the tank down. Pirates and back on Saturday and then 3 Dunes and back on Sunday. We have a little under half a tank left........lol

Octane will not make it run richer, My 525,s ran the same reg or prem fuel, It ran a few more RPM with Prem....

Not my experience with 525’s. They soot like a MF’r with 91.

Waste of time, I had 2 525,s....You would never know what fuel your running by the transom soot, and you should run 91 in that motor. Mercury says to run 89 for advertising...If you run 89 , you timing will retard to keep it from detonating . Any High perf motor that says run regular instead of premium means you can, It will always run better with higher octane. Also my 525 s would pull a little More RPM with Premium .

Not the experience I have had with many 525’s. Always ran better and cleaner without 91. At Powell elevation on up we ran 87.
