@TPC to the Catalina phone
I used to like string at the bar that faces the harbor and watching. Or the place on the pier. But there are a couple decent restaurants up the street.

Years ago we went to the Buffalo Nickel if I remember right. It’s near where the barge’s unload and the water treatment plant. It’s where the locals go to eat and had great food years ago. We took the golf cart from Hamilton cove to the restaurant.

Definitely try NDMK fish house. It's on Clarissa St. Cool little spot. Their fish and chips are good and they have local fresh caught fish. Sushi is good.

Hope to take a golf cart around the island that afternoon and site see a little bit. Staying at Zane Pueblo Hotel which is one of the few hotels that have a pool and hopefully use Saturday. Hope to find a nice restaurant Saturday night...........

we always have blast at the marlin bar. we asked the bartender "where should we eat" she picked up the phone and said what kind pizza do you want? he had pizza delivered to the bar for us! i told him just order a bunch and get it here, set all of the boxes on the bar and let everyone get some, there was only 10-15 people in their. our drinks were covered the rest of the night.

We ended up eating at The Naughty Fox. Very good food and great location.

I can’t believe I’ve never been to Catalina Island before. This place is amazing. I will definitely come back.

We rented a golf cart from a buddy’s friend who lives at the island and went all around the island. There are some really nice baller houses here.

Stopped at Descano Beach Club for a dip in the ocean. The water is really clear here as well. Just an overall awesome day trip.

You can snorkel( dive) the preserve right off the casino. Even have steps into the water.

I love Catalina. You have to stay a couple nights to fully get the avalon experience. If your a fisherman or not, those waters are so pristine, it blows my mind every time. My 10 year anniversary I took my wife via helicopter and stayed at the metropole. That was awesome and not too bad. I think hotel and flight rt was 1000. Just spent my 40th over and did a air b&b with the whole family and it was awesome.
Two harbors is on another level of beautiful and laid back.

I’ve fished around the island many times and even did some diving back in the days but never been on land. We walked by the Metropole hotel today. Great location. Walk to the bar and crawl back. 😆

Did you go in the old casino. Supposed be a little girl who haunts the bathroom downstairs

We went by there. Didn’t pay the $20/person to go inside. I’ll watch it on YouTube lol.

For me the best fish and chips and cold beer have always been out toward the end of the peer.
Can’t remember the name. But never disappoints

Lol is that a thing? I didn’t see it.
Damn. Dude. You barely even have to look. Let alone listen to what to order at the beach bar. Lmao.

All good I’m sure you’re going g back so next time. 👍😜

Most important. Have a great time and enjoy the rest of the cruising. 👍

I sailed there once from MDR on my 24 foot Santana with a girl I was dating when I was 22 or so.

No GPS, No radio. Just the heading to steer printed on a business card from the shop that overhauled my compass.

Made it there no problem, dropped anchor in the Isthmus cove for the night.

Sailed back the next day, the wind just died about Manhattan beach, fired up the 6hp Johnson as it was getting dark.

Made it back to my slip and went to stow the gas can... it was empty.

Young and dumb, makes for great stories!

They have an ocean view suite and a rooftop hot tub. It comes with the helicopter hotel package. Pretty awesome to see the bay glow at night with all the boats

It’s a great place to visit. I’m there at least 2 -3 times a month all year round for work. I’m glad to see it bounce back. Avalon is trendy, but two harbors is where the real scenery is. Hikes, diving etc.

Have fun!

My Cousin rented the Casino for his wedding. It was really nice. We took his old boat over and had a blast. I was thinking of asking him to take us over on the new one for a weekend. Figured fill it up as part of the deal. Until his Sister told me it has twin 1500 gallon tanks. Lol. It does have 5 bathrooms compared to the old ones 2.

Have a great Cruise!

Catalina is a special place. My oldest daughter moved to Avalon a little over a year ago and absolutely loves it. My brother and his family live on the island as well.
I’m amazed when people from Southern California say they've never been there, seems like such a shame .

Seriously, I agree. It’s a very cool place. I’m gonna bring my mom here very soon. She’s been asking me to take her.

I agree, charging 20 bucks to just walk in is stupid however on Cruise Ship days we have seen lines form.

I used to keep score on how many times I've been to the island since my Dad had a slipped boat in Dana Point when that harbor opened in '71 and my current 14 year run with our current endeavor and its well over a 100 times.

I have hundreds of stories however Ross @TPC is the king in that dept.

At Two Harbors the meat bees are just out of control and the bar tenders hate it. The bees just dive right into the Buffalo Milks. The conservancy needs to put the champagne bottle down for a bit and look into it before they end up with no food servers or bar tenders.

My kids first helicopter ride was to the island and back, weekend trip.
Was a surprise birthday trip for my wife. I told them to pack light as we were going to be staying on the Queen Mary.
They had no idea until they started weighing our bags 😳

Good friends had a family house there, in one of the best locations. It overlooked the Yacht club and Tuna club. Supposedly designed by the same architect that designed the Casino. The house had been in the family for many many years, and I guess when it went from grandparents, to parents, and then the kids, the property value got reassessed, and the property tax went sky high. Our friends wanted to keep it and rent it out to offset the cost, the other siblings did not want to put out any money to keep it and they eventually sold it. Rumor was the first person to shop it was Nicholas Cage?
We spent many weekends there with our friends, but the wife and I would also head there a few days early, and have the place to ourselves. We knew where the key was stashed and the combo to unlock the old 2 stroke golf cart.
DAMN, I miss that place.
The middle floor was all windows, and a full on bar, with a balcony. I could hang there all night.

I'm so old, I was one of the kids diving for quarters thrown from passengers coming in on the "Great White Steamer"!
