I have a chevy shortbed crewcab 6' bed, anyone haul a golf cart in one before? Its a 4 seater so i cant back in in either, thinking thats a lot of weight on the tailgate if it sits out that far which im pretty sure it would.

Shouldn't be. I hauled mine a bunch of times with no problems. When I drove it all the way in the rear wheels were actually half in the bed and half on the tailgate.

Measure from hub to hub on the golf cart and get back to us.

I know many that have. One thing they did is put a piece of plywood under it so that is what the rear of the cart is sitting on.

It's a 3/4 ton short bed. Didn't know you got the short short bed. Honestly I still think you'd be fine. They don't weigh much.

Also, you could put a ratchet strap on each side from the tailgate up to the bed side for extra support.

Load it bacwards. They are rear heavy. Ull be fine either way. Ur only gonna have a quarter of the weight on the tailgate. Even less if u spread it with a 3/4" piece of plywood.

Used to do it every trip to the river in a short bed. Never had a problem. Also did it everytime with the rhino that was much heavier, and still never had a problem.

Put a Rhino in the back of my short bed Ram. It did reverse dimple the tail gate in a couple spots, but stayed in there fine.

You have the short-short bed. :p (i.e 5' 9' not 6' 6")

I put my Yamaha in the 6.5' bed with room to spare. Matter of fact I think I could almost close the tail-gate but not quite. I used a strap to keep the tailgate somewhat closed.

Not 100% sure about the the short-short bed though?

The rhino fits in the 6.5' bed and thats quite a bit longer than a golf cart. I have driven with the Rhino in the bed and the rear tires sit on the tail gate. Its quite a bit heavier than the GC.

So if your GC fits with the tail gate down, you are good.

I have made several trips with my lifted cart in my short bed. I could almost close the tail gate. I would push it closed as far as I can then wrap two tie downs around it to help keep it from hitting the boat on tight turns.

Riverdave is nice enough to loan me a trailer to get it too Parker if need be, but i was thinking maybe i would haul it home and throw a lift and tires on it. Then it probably wouldn't be able to fit back into the truck width wise and be stuck with it at home, maybe i should just leave it alone and worry about getting it from havasu to parker.

This is what I did with my short bed. I also put a piece of wood in front by the rear window so when I went over the wheels wells of the truck I didn't smash the window with my push bar. :D Also it a bitch to back out of the truck if you have a gas gold cart and its not warmed up. :(

I still think it would fit. I had probably a foot and a half of room left to go with my golf cart. And it was lifted big with a long travel kit, 25" tires, and a big front bumper with lights on it.

Thats what I always did when I hauled the rhino.

Not sure a 1/2 ton crew cab short bed will work? I ditched my ex cab with the standard bed for a crew and its alot shorter.

Golf cart is quite a bit shorter than the Rhino. The wheel base on my old golf cart was probably a foot shorter than my Rhino. And my long travel on the golf cart pushed the front wheels about 6" forward too.

It will fit probably how the rhino does...back tire in the middle of the tail gate.

The 07+ trucks alsw have a way thicker header panel up top on the bed than the previous generation.

Old pic... truck pre-lift and old pontoon... anyway, this is our cart in the bed of our 2500. I believe it has a 6' bed. The cart has the protruding push bar from the lift in the front, so it can't go all the way to the front of the bed or it hits the window. Never had any problems transporting it this way.

We were traveling West on the 8 Fwy, about to go up the Fortuna Foothills, outside of Yuma. They stopped traffic intermittently for blasting work.
