I haven't been able to leave the house much, some things have turned up lately that have required me being here. So, I spend way too much time online...

This popped up in the local Craigslist. Wife is more than okay with me heading out for a couple hours in the morning. I can't afford any really cool stuff, and chances are the heavy hitter car guys will have already poached the high end stuff anyway. There may be trinkets of days gone by, or if I'm lucky, maybe some old school tools others wouldn't care to use. The guy is really hot rod royalty, even if the car was a Chrysler product 🤣

That should be fun, just sent info to a buddy about an hour from there.

I hope that there is a bit of history for you to see and possibly pick up a thing or two. Post up any pics of interesting things. 👍 Best of luck on the home front my friend. If you need to talk just give me a call.

I'm always amazed at where (location wise) some of the most badass stuff is made. If I remember correctly there was a shop in Prescott that was big with the 427 Cammer.

Sale "started at 8"...my ass was there at 7:40, figuring I'd hang out in the car.
Wrong. Already a truck backed up to the door. He seemed like an honest fan, and car guy. Bought the project car out back (kept the cover on it to keep me and other lookyloos out:mad:) as well as all the parts that could be used for it. I saw some Casale stuff, and Mooneyham bits, but thought it rude to stalk his truck.

Bob is looking a bit older. Thinking he's clearing out the AZ home, and probably going to fulltime in Ohio now. Nice little house, be great for a retired couple. One of his friends was there, trying to push Bob's book about Hemi Under Glass. At 45$ I had to pass.

I grabbed a few "trinkets". Tool stuff, and one part that escaped the wall of parts for the car. It was in the bottom of a dairy crate with misc. junk. A chrome pedal! Hell, now I'll have to build a car around it🤣

Tire spoons come in handy, brass drifts are stupid expensive, and a man never has enough hammers!

Rummaging is half the fun !
The only "garage sales" I try and go to are the ones that are car related. Last year was a pretty cool one, the guy had been an auto shop teacher his entire career. There were some tools that were very out dated for "new" stuff, but stuff still nice to have. I picked up a hydraulic pressure gauge set for 20-30$. It had all kinds of adapters, and three different heads, 0-500, 0-1200 and 0-3000psi.

I've only used it once so far, but it more than paid for itself. Some of the guys I work around kind of scoff at buying tools second (or 3rd or 4th) hand. A new American made gauge set like that would cost a lot. If that's what you did every day, it may be worth it. For me, it's literally another tool in the box. It may not be used often, but everyone's damn happy I have it when it's needed. Digging through the old stuff is where I've "come up" in a lot of ways with tools.

That's cool as shit monkey wrench!!!

If you want a 426 Hemi valve cover (not signed) for garage art, PM me. I know someone that has a few.

Same friend also has an original 426 wedge, stage 3 valve cover (Hemi killer) hanging in his garage. He won't sell that one.

A actually have a couple "Firedome" covers from baby hemis. Really not much of a wall art guy. I knew people that collected stuff just for that. I always bought stuff that may look cool on the wall, but I wanted to put on a car! My walls change🤣

my most commonly used "used" tools are my Mac master fuel pressure tester kit that I've even added a few pieces to and also a 10pc SnapOn Deutch Connector pinning tool set

if we're not counting my wrench drawer anyway. I think we all have one of those full of spare wrenches that we don't mind taking a torch or a grinder to

N my opinion most the old tools are better than new ones

By any chance was his name Lonny. Was their place in a metal building off of N Feather road in Paulden?

Not this one...also an older metal shop, but in Prescott. This gentleman had been Prescott High School's shop teacher, and then Yavapai Community's. Long time local, his son a bit older than me, was a nurse at the VA.
