I am in OC and have been cooped up like most of you for the last 3 weeks working from home... I have been contemplating going to Havasu for a 3 day weekend and I am torn to go or not... I will leave it up to the RDP crew... Survey ends at 6PM, lets see what you all decide...

This will be a entertaining thread. If Alan is still banned he is likely losing his mind not being able to respond.

When you say that you're "contemplating going to Havasu" what are you planing on doing? If you are going to work on the house or the boat or some other activity that keeps you somewhat removed from others then I would say yes. If on the other hand you are planing on partying, getting together with friends and doing other socially irresponsible things then you should probably stay home.

Boating with a friend, socially responsible and stay away from others, the usual fun at Havasu, speed runs, listening to tunes, exploring a new cove or two, having a few beers, kind of an outcast weekend!

Watching as well. I can quarantine there. Won’t be around anyone. Seriously. I don’t see me as a threat . I’m not gonna boat. Just chill in the sun

I think if you stock up on all your stuff at your local store just like you would anyway... and respect the social distancing, and I am not talking 6 feet, I am talking staying free and clear of everyone on the lake, while occupying your own personal property (house) you are good to go. But if you are going to drive around and visit all you buddies at about 4-6 feet distance, grabbing beers out of everyone coolers etc.. you really aren't serious about it..

I am on the edge about launching out of havasu springs on a cabin cruiser in pure isolation with my wife for 3 days. 1 launch 3 days on the hook 1 retrieve and leave. And I don't think I would technically ever enter the city of lake havasu.

I was thinking of coming out the 17th for the weekend with a couple of friends to go boating,. We would want to stay at a RV park, is anything open?

you will get both answers. Do what you think is right

I will be driving to Havasu April 29th to setup my spot at the Islander and returning to CA May 3.
For that trip, I will have everything needed, so I don’t have it hit any stores in Havasu, put will order out food to support local business.

I have my 75yo mom and stepdad on lockdown in Palm Springs. The summer house in Northern WI is 68 miles from the closest hospital and that hospital is small like Havasu. Don’t want them that far from a hospital when they both have underlying conditions and are at higher risk!

Islander is not accepting and daily or weekly reservations in April

Well it seems wrong that you should be out having fun while others are stuck at home being forced to get to know their family or worse yet still at work waiting to see if the national guard is going to come and throw a padlock on the gate and not let you leave for the next two weeks (which is my case) but I'm going to remain neutral on this decision for now. If you end up needing a swing vote I can be bought. 😁

The rangers are manning the booths still taking money right? That seems like tacit permission to me.

Would definitely go , just be responsible. We just had snowbirds move out so we are going to do some yard work and restock the house. Original plan was to boat Saturday away from everyone with the family but someone just booked the place on Airbnb for couple weeks, checking in tomorrow. So all business for a day and headed back home. I think Alan is involved with the Airbnb somehow lol

Stay home!

We are a relatively small community with limited medical resources. As it is, it's impossible to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time during the winter months, with snowbirds. The hospital is also at or near capacity. Many winter visitors are staying longer, due to travel restrictions and limited lodging opportunities on their route home. If there were to be, even a minor, breakout of COVID-19, our hospitals, clinics, and first responders would be overwhelmed and the result would be a fatality rate far above what our population would normally see.

YOU have many chances to bring the virus from a populated area into our small community, without even knowing you are carrying it. It could be picked up from a gas pump, a snack store, your coffee shop, supermarket, or any number of places on you, your family or the possessions you bring with you.

The virus doesn't move. It takes someone to bring it with them. Someone's selfishness of wanting THEIR vacation, no matter who or how many it could harm, makes them......
well I'm too much of a gentleman to say.

I stayed home, but see many who choose to go. If i lived there i would be going to lake everyday but i don't so personally i think its right to stay home. I think there are lots of people who see it as a time off, their kids are off are its a perfect time so they choose to go. Great thing about america you got choices.

We are supposed to be out there right now. We cancelled the trip even though our boat is on a lift in the Marina ready to go. I don't want to bring anything home to my elderly mom who is a cancer survivor. I am limiting contact with everyone until the spread slows down. I am going to have to do an overnight trip by myself to take care of some stuff at the Havasu house, but I am bringing everything I need with me. I won't be in any stores or eating any food from any places out there. The only place I will need to stop at in town is a gas station to fill up to get home. Gloves and wipes for that. Everyone is in a different situation, so make the call that's right for you.

I pulled the plug on going. Got two buddies that still went. The old battle axe at the havisu springs gave my Olady a ration of shit for canceling. It just didn’t feel right to go. Yes I’m a Californian fagit hipster, liberal, democrat, gangbanger and could have contaminated you all.[emoji40]

Im not making plan to head out....but i WILL need to go out in the next few weeks.
I get in my truck in my garage. Straight to my place. See nobody, do nothing.
Get back in truck, get gas with glove, back in garage at home.
Does the virus jump to someone with david blaine magic?
If i start to feel like shit im outta there...ive seen the hospital up close.
