This has been a hard 2 weeks for many of our friends who know this woman and her family. She was kidnapped 2 weeks ago in Redding. Brings tears to my eyes thinking of losing my wife like this. So happy she will be back with her family.

The thoughts of rage I feel reading that story of what happened to that poor woman and gives me the chills relating the possibility of that happening to my own family.

Nightmares are made from the horrors that poor woman experienced.

There should be a special place in hell cleaned out for whomever did this.

I honestly am not sure its good thing or a bad thing she is alive. I have seen what happens to people that had extreme acts of violence committed against them.


The only thing I do know, if I get my hands on the people that did this, they will wish the cops had got there 1st.

I do not know them personally, but they did grow up with our friends kids. Spent days after school and weekends at their house and are still friends today. They are not tweakers or party type people. Nerdy couple who live for each other and their children is how they have been described to me. I have heard she has not been reunited with her kids yet because of her appearance from how badly she was beaten. Other than that the only thing shared is what the press have released.

No matter how weird it seems to release her alive, it's hard to imagine the couple being part of the deal. Revenge of course is a different deal, but I'm struggling to see how that could be a motive if she's released. It's pretty easy these days for investigators to dig up dirt like an affair or contraband deal gone bad.

There's a lot of sick opportunists out there that might have been looking for a random victim and she was their pick. Letting her go alive may in their minds lessened the crime from murder OR they left her to die in a location where her body would be found. She was tougher than they thought and lived. This is what I'm figuring happened and fits her being left in a ditch to die. They tortured her and then left her to die and she didn't.

The first I heard I thought it was a very strange/suspicious deal...either a hoax or the husband was trying to trade her in. I really feel bad about thinking that. My question now is why? I can see rape as a motive, I can see ransom as a motive, revenge seems much less likely now and taking someone, abusing them for a few weeks for giggles, then letting them go seems passed crazy. Whatever the motive is I certainly hope it's isolated and not a cult where more innocents have been abused. I hope she heals well and is able to get passed it.

I assure you I would be dialing in the turrets on a suppressed .308 while my wife loaded the round and prepared for the shot from about 600 yards out if this happened to my family..... might be 5 years from now could be 10 but sooner or later someone would pay and I would already have the acid paid for and the grave site dug years in advance.
