GenMax 7250 is about the same size as your Predator 3500 at about 40 LBS more. The GenMax has the desirable NEMA 14 50 plug. It's good for 5.4 KW.
GenMax noticeably a little louder. The Predator has a softer exhaust note.

The GenMax 7250 will run two RV 15K ACs. Step them in. Not as much torque in this units engine as compared to the bigger 7500 inverter generators or your RV house Onan.

Has to catch its breath as it picks up load.

Charging the wife’s car it’s happy at 25 amps/220 volts. That’s about 25 miles range for every hour charged. Clean sine wave is essential.

Portable EV chargers won't let you step up the charge while charging like the stationary EV chargers do. So you pre-set the AMPS on the charger because you're stuck with what the generator can initially handle when you slam it with a hot load. Hence: 25 AMPS,, which all things considered is pretty good out in the nowhere that everything is a million miles from.

I have 6 different portable chargers. The stand out best is the Must Start Multi Amp unit. Amazon about $300. Durable and it works as advertised.

Nice for when the wife rolls into camp with her EV, and I can run 2 ACs in the warmer months and have it out where no one can hear it.

Our much bigger 7500 generator easily handles 32 amps/220 volts giving geometrically more range per hour of charge. But it's a big, quiet beast best for at home use..

Below pic typical China generator after an hours run time. Lots of metal in the oil to be expected:

It snorts and farts as it warms up and as I add hours of running time it’s smoothing out. Doesn’t vibrate as much as the Predator 3500 and it’s delivering twice the KW. I'll check plug gap and plug quality at 10 hours. I suspect the gap is jazzed.

So if you consider this 220V compact generator with the most desirable NEMA 14 50 - 50 amp receptacle, manage your expectations.

Yeah it’s relatively cheap, compact and can to the job.
At least does what we ask of it and what I expected. Compact and kind'a powerful.

So without having the main RV generator running, and BTW the main generator only delivers 15 amps / 115 volts to outlets , I can have 220 volts up to almost 5.4 KW to do more tasks than the house Onan 5500 and HF Predator 3500 can.

But not a lot more and the Predator 3500 will still be my portable of choice. Nice and quiet, cheap and does 75% of what the RV asks for.

Like sacrificial anodes on your boat I look at these as cheap sacrificial generators. When they tap out, ya drain the fluids and toss them in the dumpster. Also:
Theirs an old Jasper in Quartsite that has a Predator 3500 boneyard. The old buzzard will get most broken 3500's fixed with used parts for $100 flat rate fee. Taillight guarantee. Ya either have him fix your HF 3500, or you can donate it.

Good info Ross.
I have an older EU6500 Honda, but loading it in the truck is an...event.
I NEVER leave with the 5er without a EU2200. I have seen too many Onans crap out in camp.
They seem to eat fuel pumps for one thing.

Watch that wear spot on the Pull start cord EU2200. It snaps easily. Some are using electrical shrink tubing on the part of the cord to prevent this. It's a long process to fix it.

That's a cool unit for that much power and good info thanks

The catch its breath part you mention is what sucks for a mig welder 110v I've found. I wish it worked but most generators when the initial load hits, it does not put out enough power and it fuks with the welder instantly clogging the tip. Only solution I have found is to run another tool like an air compressor or grinder first to ramp up the power and then hit the welder but only on bigger geneys that can handle the load of both tools. I'd like the option of doing welding repairs in the middle of the desert without taking a huge 7500 generator to run a 110v mig.

I agree on the sacrificial note. I have been done with the small 2000 and 3000 Hondas for awhile. I've had them all and the predators are cheaper imo have better qualities including being slightly quieter.
I buy the Predators on sale 20% off with the 2 year warranty, return it after 2 years when they hicup with thousands of hours on it and get new ones. You can only use the warranty once and just bring it to any store with no gas in it. I have 2 I didn't buy warranties for, a brand new 2000 and 3500 in boxes I keep for emergencies at home

Yeah all that is wrong. The correct INFO is: 220 V - 60 Hz/cycles - 23 oz oil in the crank.
The owners manual sux.

NGK BPR6 had way too wide a gap as I suspected.
I corrected it and the generator runs much smoother.
Amazing that it starts with no fuss. The second you hit the start button it's running.
Cold blooded, give it time to warm up.

Second oil change at 8 hours still had metal in the oil. The usual for China generators from my experiences.
Should run clean now, or grenade by 100 hrs.

Wife is on the list for the Blazer SS that’ll take a bit longer to charge because it has almost 50% more battery and 50% more power.

Camped in the desert we got us a portable EV charger.

I have two Champion generators, a 3100 and a 2500. Both dual fuel. I found they both run smoother on propane. I don't recall seeing much, if any metal in the oil during changes. All together there are around 6 champion 2500s in our group. No problems so far. I have had my 3100 for 5 years. I picked up the 2500 because it was getting harder to load the 3100 by my self. None are 220 volt, so that doesn't help big you need it. I may look into the Genmax for home use.

I have the PowerHorse 7500 for the house. Twice the price and weight and will charge the car at 34 amps/240V.

Speaking of EV charging Circle K is starting to install these super-reliable, really fast American built ABB chargers:

Free Wi Fi & restrooms. Private install and private owned not on the Biden grid goes the tales.
