Wondering who is the go-to in Havasu for repairing gel-coat? Small little stress cracks and redoing the bottom from the boat being beached.

Also curious to hear how much it would cost to change up the bottom half design, keeping the same colors.

If you've got someone you suggest let me know!

I've heard good things about Saleen, but have no experience with them.

Pedro at Saleen and Nordic would be me top choices. Both have done work on our boat that turned out good. Adreneline did the bottom on our Magic before we sold it. Looked really good. I hear Kornowski does great work. Couldn’t get a quote or appt.

Is Nordic doing gel coat repair again? Last few years they were not.

Pedro is good, usually has a long wait time and can be pricey.

Good work comes at a cost for sure. he’s done work for me and if you’re flexible on your timeline he will squeeze you in when he has a cancellation or something like that. I had a very specific deadline for him and he delivered. He also took the time to come to the house and look at the job with my friend because I wasn’t able to be up there to bring the boat to him or let him in the garage. My boat was brought back to me very clean tire shined up etc. Pedro‘s work was top shelf, He was extremely fair and did a wonderful job.

Pedro at Saleen - (928) 486-4529

Steve Panter - +1 (928) 732-9736

Those would be my top 2 choices / tell them RD sent ya!

Nordic I believe is so busy building boats right now I don’t believe they are taking on side projects.

Looks like RD answered it. Nordic did the repairs 3-4 years ago. Too bad they’re not in the business. Really good work.

Only way to guess the cost of a regel, is to see what and how big. However i know that if any rigging needs removed that’s when a regel gets expensive.

I decided to go with Steve at Superior Fiberglass for the gel repairs and he's even handling the refresh on my trailer as well.

Steve has been cranking out this project and making awesome progress, even keeping me updated with a ton of pictures along the way! He's kept in close communication with me and provides status updates regularly to let me know where everything is at in the process. I've been impressed with the magic he's worked on the colors and removing the cracks and imperfections that have accumulated after 20+ years of use on this Hallett. Most of the work is done and the new windshields are installed!

He's still working on the keel and the trailer be completed before I can put her back in the water, but I'll post another update with more before/after pictures when she gets picked up. This should be a great season!

I've been following Steven Panther and he seems super legit. Might be a different story looking at it in person though. I need to schedule an appointment with him for couple things.

I drive by Steve's shop all the time. He's always working on cool old school boats. Looking forward to seeing the work when he's finishes your 240!

Any updates? Is it done?
Any new pics?
Still in jail:
Estimate given on April 17th: "Two more weeks", so we'll see how that turns out.

It's been taking a while but it's good to see some progress being made. Bunks and lights are off the trailer, getting new ones put on. Keel of the boat is the last thing that needs to happen and then we're home free. I'd say things are about 85%/90% done.

The swim step looks brand new, didn't get a pic of it last time I was there. Pretty happy with the quality of gel work that's being done, night and day difference for sure.

I'm just more than ready to be done with this part of the waiting game!
