Interesting....Thanks for this.. I still convert the prop style automotive hoods to gas springs

My previous life I built camper shells.. About the time when we transitioned from the old click/cam to regular springs then to gas springs...

We learned by trial and error how to gauge what pressure was required.. The geometry came fairly easy due to our experience but the pressure errors destroyed some doors...lol
