Better fill up at the bottom of the hill.

I wonder how many people make comments when they go in and pay. I’d have a hard time not saying something.

That station is run by the park concessionaire and the only one around 20+ miles. Fill up at any of our small towns surrounding and it won't be cheap but not ridiculous. They are on average a dollar higher per gallon.

Guess Yosemite is off the summer list. It’s cheaper to run the boat!

I would park everything I own before I would pay thst price!

No chit! I did just that in 04-05 when diesel was over $6 per gallon. I had a brand new cummins dually....refused to pay that much for diesel. Drove the gasser instead

Honestly if you can avoid it don't go in summer. To crowded. Spring( the falls), and fall are the best, if you like snow its stunning after a fresh storm in the winter.. It's in our backyard and I've been doing a bit of work there, like 10 times in the last few weeks and the traffic is already nuts. And terrorists(pun intended) don't seem to know what a turn out is for...

Ca gas is nuts everywhere but in our local towns it's about $3.59

Yeah, I call BS.

I do not believe the pic posted is from any gas station Inside the park.

Google Earth or Street View should verify this easily.

I might be the only one but If I'm in a situation where I failed to prepare and need to buy fuel in the middle of nowhere...I'd be happy it's available at any price.

Do you think that station gets anywhere near the volume of some in town station?...no...likely not. They have to charge enough to make a profit and continue to exist. If I owned it, the prices would be higher.

Have you seen it??? It's like known as one of the 10 wonders of the world...

We rarely go there as tourists but driving through part of it 100's of time for work it's still stunning every time.

Yes there are some libs that work and live near but the surrounding areas are rural and very conservative. Like ca our voters are moving towards the left but we are typically still at 70% republican.

I had to get gas there a couple years ago. Was glad to see it as I was on fumes. Yeah, I fucked up, it was my first time there.
As I recall I put like half a tank in and fueled up later on and further away!
Don’t remember what I paid but it was extremely high.

2 climbers fell yesterday and died. One was a popular teacher in Palmdale. The news didn't say if he was a "Nature Nazi" or a "liberal" like Ken described. :)

It was private forever then when underground tanks in California like 10 years ago had to be changed it was not cost effective and the park took it over.

Went there last year and really enjoyed it. Was my first time going. My wife has been there before and we were prepared for the high gas prices in the park and fueled up before going into the park.

Have a good friend who loves rock climbing. It almost killed him 5 years ago when he fell 40’ feet, but he keeps on doing it. I tried it once. I don’t understand the passion either but if that’s what cranks your handle - go for it!

Yosemite, in the off seasons, is one of the jewels of Calif. The place always amazes me. Just too bad it is now in such a f'd up state.

Maybe they were still in shock after filling up which may have contributed the fall one reporter said

Really. At that price I want my window washed by a big titted blonde, with a short handle squeegee.

LMAO!

I also can't help but see the irony here.. being you're guy that paid the fuel bill on a mega yacht to travel the world? :D

1st time I went there ( and the last time I'll go) the family said "going camping". WRONG! Packed liked sardines, no campfire, we brought a ton of food and it would've been easier (and cheaper) to eat at the cafeteria, beer was $.75 a six pack over the market price, big whoop.

I just need to not be there...leave it to the glampers and let them get eaten by bears.

Just like any popular place, you have to either do ton of homework, or go with someone who knows the ropes.

Can you imagine going to the river without any advice?? (why is my boat high and dry this morning????) There are somethings you just have to know! lol

Yosi is even worse. Parts of it are a HUGE tourist trap. MOST of it will take your breath away.

The main thing to know about a trip to Yosi is, you must get off the beaten path!!! Most tourists don't walk more than ten minutes from their cars. What lies beyond the crowds is amazing.

I've backpacked for weeks at a time out in the park, and that's where the real beauty is at. I remember hiking deep into the Merced River valley and thinking, this place, no matter what TV you view it on, or what pictures you're looking at, can not even come close to conveying the incredible beauty that I'm looking at. I felt bad for all the people that don't have the ability to see this view. That can't get out of their houses, their jobs, whatever it is in their life that will not allow them to see what I'm seeing right now. It's hard to express the emotion, but I can tell you I was also feeling about as happy as I've ever felt.

There truly are places on this earth that absolutely need to be protected. Yosemite is one of them. Maybe they should raise the gas prices, just to keep the rif-raf out. ;)
