The MIC dually was iconic. I spent so much time down at the shop with Rob through both renditions of this truck. My truck was built during that same time. Who all was in the scene at that time?

Brought back a bunch of memories.

Man, i remember that from truckin mag or sport truck mag. What was that, somewhere around 2000 it was in the magazine?
Reading all those magazines in high school in the mid to late 90s are what got me hooked on trucks and got me in the paint and body business!!
Unfortunately here in Oklahoma, there is very little demand for that kind of custom stuff, so i mostly do collision work, but the custom stuff is my passion!!
If i just had the time and money to do it too!!!

I was in the scene at the time and spent a lot of time at their shop. I received one of their first batches of manual f/b/s/s alum boards with gauges as set to test. Actually just sold the k5 blazer that they were in this year and was looking at the MIC logo and was wondering if it was just routered in as it looked so awful. But back in the day it was the shit with the individual gauges.

MIC built my ranger back in the day (1997-98) I had an I beam ranger that laid frame front to back. They had to notch the gram in the front to clear the I beams and steering. My brother recently saw it in Temecula and said it looks almost exactly the same as when I owned it. I told him if he sees it again find out what it would take to buy it.

I remember having them also. They were the shit back then....now they are literally shit. Lol.

I was in the scene at that time. I think the first time I got up close to it was at the SoCal Truck Jam in Irvine. It was a trend setter for sure. Great memories.

That has to be one of the most popular “Truckin” trucks ever. Saw once at Spring Splash and at Davis Camp so well done.

As i don’t watch ass monkey, how’d old Richard Rawlings end up with it? Doesn’t seem his regular go to of vehicle’s

I was in the scene for this iconic truck. My buddy Steve owns hydroholics and they did all the hydraulics in it on the show

I remember that truck well!

I used to build show mini trucks back through the 90s . Started with Chevy, then switched to Toyota’s, one had suicide doors, suicide tailgate, All handles and everything shaved simple blue n white
Another yota xtra cab was over the top Kelly n sons paint job, 4 runner front end, Lexus handles, etc... mini trucking was waiting to do Cover truck with it but sold to builder buddy of mine before interior got finished, it went to Arkansas for many years, I got it back for my sons first truck and ended up selling to a dude up n Barstow. I’ll see if I can find pics.

I switched from building trucks to designing graphics designs and ideas for crazy paint jobs and building displays for show vehicles. Best was a 2in deep pool with waterfalls around truck. Got awards for years for best display. Then kids and family, and had to be an adult, lol

Funny how I ended up building Pools for a living, one could say the display was my first Pool, lol

And I swear the frame of that truck was at hoppos 2 years ago when I went to see Art

Odd I recently saw the little blazer that they built and was at a ton of shows and magazines on Craigslist for sale.

His neighbor had it stored in his warehouse and wanted to get rid of it because it was taking up to much warehouse space. It was filthy and in bad shape. I think he paid less then 10k for it.

Thank you for your wheel purchase. I don't remember the number.....I want to say 203/204. I believe that mold was one of, if not the last of directional molds.

Brian

Lol. I dug the wheels but hated that you couldn’t by a reverse pattern so they went the same way on the other side. Back then rolling on 17s was a big thing. [emoji23] I remembered putting 20s on it for a while but it would lay as low so went back to 17s. The truck looked like it was body dropped. Downside was the gas tank hung so low that I tore it open one day going over a speed bump.

According to the guy that had it, he heard it had changed owners a couple times before he got it.

Wild, I am pretty sure I made a mold to do a reverse. Maybe the mold was damaged and they elected not to repair it.

On a side note, the first 17in mold for a one piece we did was cool, I just never imagined just a few short years later we would do 22in one piece. The molds were HUUUUGE.

Hmmm, by my documents, it looks like the last reverse wheel was the 170/171. It has only been around 15 years. :) Sorry about the false alarm.

Later years, those were just cast (in Russia) as a blank face and the design machined and lableled as "Made In USA".

I knew at that time, my time was coming.

Would love to find out where i can get a set of the app dually wheels.

Great memories back in the day in the truck scene of so-cal. Definitely dabbled with some bagged mini trucks and even an astro van. Man, the river runs of the late 90's were f'n awesome!! 17" Neepers were the hit!! haha.
