Windy and cold in Havasu yesterday but I was able to find some decent water by site 6. Finally was able to get out and stretch the legs on the new boat. Spun 28's to almost 7000 rpm so I have some room for some more prop in the cold weather.

Acceleration once on plane with the twins is awesome. Fallon got the motors running great.

Nothing like flying around in a twin outboard cat!
I have a set of 14.5x32 Mazco small shaft clevers you are welcome to try, my old 24 Skater used to pull them 8600 rpms with a pair of mod. 260s.

Now that looks like big FUN!

This looks like more fun and more of a challenge than going 150MPH in a large cat. Can someone that has done both comment?

My car analogy is that the small Daytona with OBs is like driving a 930 Turbo Porsche for instance - It will bite you if you do something stupid and don't respect it. But highly rewarding when you get it right.

The large DCB is like a AMG Mercedes. Faster than the old Porsche, easy to drive fast, and feels "safe" while doing it, but you are not as "connected" to the water, and not as fun to drive overall.

I have zero seat time in small twin outboard boats but a fair amount of seat time in big HP v drive boats and I think your car analogy is a good one. My F32 is easy and somewhat uneventful when driven right, that said any vehicle driven at extreme speeds should you do something out of line and your luck has run out you will pay the price and the penalty is accessed immediately. Driving a fast and capable small boat is certainly all about the drivers capabilities and the driving experience. Super fun, high energy and definitely adrenalin loaded. Big and small they are all fun in different ways.

What he said for sure. I've had a few big cats, the fastest was a 120 mph F29. That boat was pretty boring at under 100, but like Don said things can go wrong in a hurry. You don't have a sensation of the speed especially behind canopies and then you realize it when some dickwad pulls in front of you. I think a lot of newbs flip big cats because they turn and forget they were running 80 mph because of that lack of speed sensation.

I've raced small outboard tunnels and really enjoy the seat of your pants feel of a small tunnel or cat, it's an adrenaline rush feeling the boat dance around under your but knowing only a foot or so is still in the water. The twin is the best yet, the acceleration from on plane to the 80's is brutal.
