So did you buy one? The bumper got scratched on your truck, so time for a new one :)

You boys and your cute little Raptors. :D

Not mine, but a beautiful truck and one I'd rather have over ANY Raptor. Sorry for the thread hijack, but I felt compelled. :D
That’s a fully caged prerunner likely over 150k into it. I would love to have that too but dollar for dollar the raptor is unbeatable at the moment

Pretty much! :D And it looks WAY better than any Raptor I've seen lately!

(I can't afford either so it's a moot point!) :D

Santa Margarita Ford has a 5K dealer mark up on all Raptors....Not top say you can't get under that but that's where they start

When I was looking earlier this year Colley Ford had one with every conceivable option on it for $76k plus a $10k mark-up. I told them that I’ve never paid sticker, much less over sticker and I’m not going to start now. I was told I’d be happy with price I’d get the truck for. Really? If it’s not substantially under sticker I won’t be happy. I was told that they couldn’t do business with me if I felt that way. Wow! Not even an attempt to get me in. After being on a few of the Gen 2 Raptor forums these trucks seem to have all sorts of electrical gremlins, cam phaser issues, trans problems, and shocks wearing out in 40,000 miles - I feel my CTS V was a much better choice for a lot less money.

Over rated. I know 2 guys who bought them and immediately sold them. They said they were like driving a 2-stroke banshee.

It's funny because I thought that wasn't a bad price....

then I thought 70kish OTD for a 1/2 ton truck with some baby long travel suspension

I'm still stuck in the early 2000's for new truck pricing

...and shocks wearing out in 40,000 miles

The Raptor forums are complaining about this?

Normal shocks are typically junk at this mileage, and rebuilding King/Fox at 30-40k is the general reco.

Sounds like a bunch of sissies who have no idea what they’re taking about.

Normal for shocks to wear out in 40,000 miles? Is it still the 80’s? I’ve gotten well over 100,000 miles on the shocks from all my cars and in my current 2011 Silverado 2500 HD got over 210,000 in the original shocks. Granted these aren’t purpose built off road shocks, but even my latest BMWs went over 100,000 on the original shocks. 40,000 miles seems pretty weak these days for a purpose built $70,000+ truck.

Factory shocks/struts with the exception of some Factory Bilsteins are lucky to go 40-60k. So rebuilding Fox/kings at 40-50k is no big deal.

You sir need to treat you and your vehicles to new dampers. Just because you went that mileage, does not mean the parts were/are performing optimally.

40,000 mile shock are the guys beating the crap out of there trucks. With 13.9 inches of travel these are not your typical light duty truck shocks.

I would hope that those who actually beat the crap out of their truck wouldn't be complaining about the shocks at 40k; they should understand they are wear and tear item. Unless they bought the truck and thought it would survive this:

They gradually wear out.
Sometimes hard to notice because it’s over time.

I guarantee you, if you put those shocks on a shock dyno, the results would, er, shock you.

I work at a Toyota dealer and I think that's crazy! You can build a way better Taco, for a lot less $$$ ! TRD PRO is just a bunch of badges, mid grade Bilsteins, and some Faux carbon fiber.... Get a SR5. Add leather and seated seats AM. Get real suspension and plates installed for way less money..

After having the twin turbo V6 in the wife's new 400hp TT Expedition, Id MUCH rather have the older 6.2L drive train. The V6 is still a V6. What's the oldest saying in the book? "There's No replacement for Displacement"

Raptors are starting to stack up at the dealers... the V6 Killed the sales of these trucks. Adding 10-25K over MSRP isn't helping, interest rate increases every month probably isn't helping either.

Totally different trucks though? Towing heavy?
We have a large flat bed trailer (28ft) we strap a couple rzrs down to. Occasionally will have to pull 4 horse trailer or livestock trailer in the future only reason i haven’t gone gasser yet. We use my wife’s suburban to tow the boat right now, more than enough.

That price is nuts for a pretend off road truck! Real ones have a V8, cage, and no air bags. For the money a lowered crew cab half ton GMC and a 22' river boat like the Vaughn that is for sale would be way more fun, pull more ass, and bounce the boobies better.

The Raptor is a FACTORY produced performance truck. That mega-dollar GMC is a heavily customized truck. And, at the end of the day it's still a Chevy :eek::eek:

What do people do with them?? I've never seen a Raptor out in the bush.

Like most things I bet most are probably just road driven like a lot of Jeep Rubicons. Still I rather commute feeling like Robby Gordon than Bernie Sanders :D

The truck actually, IMO, fits a great niche for capable mild off-roading and higher speed dirt roads. I have a Rubicon Recon for 4 wheeling and a Tundra TRD off-road for towing and bigger camp trips. Trying to get anywhere off road on a 1-2 rated trail out of 5 in the Tundra is miserable. If You do a lot of camping in far back country, ranching or a light chase truck for Baja, it’s hands down the best stock truck IMO. Plus it looks great.

My buddy just finished shooting a special edition raptor from a company that rhymes with whoosh.

Some of the deets are a bit strange, you’ll have to wait for the debut to find out more [emoji4]

Go drive one off-road in a open desert section and your mind will be changed.. it’s very impressive for a stock truck.. A/c on no dust and you won’t spill your beer at 60

My last few service vans are stock 3500 express. changed the shocks on all at close to 200k, didn't notice any difference in handling or ride. (Yes they ride like shit to start with).
And I'm sure they were well beat with 10 ply tires, weight in van, mountain roads, rutted dirt roads daily, and I drive too fast.
40k in a well used off road truck or something I get, but anything used near normal, 40k seems crazy to me...

You need to get out (off road) more. There are plenty of Raptors off road especially in the desert washes in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and Ocotillo Wells, etc.

There's still no factory truck that can perform like a Raptor.

And as for off roading, stock full-size 4x4 pickups can go most anywhere you'd want to go. The primary limitation is breakover angle and the width of the truck. I've had my Raptors in places most wouldn't go.

They are bad ass trucks for sure. They look like they would crush power line roads. I'm sure they will go more places then I would drive it. Mainly because I wouldn't want to f it all up. I couldn't imagine banging rock sliders like I (inadvertently) do in my Jeep.

Have put the first tank of fuel through our new one... Not going to pretend they are the Holy Grail of off road anything. Not going to say they are the biggest/baddest/best at anything, will say I cant remember the last time I liked a new vehicle this much!

I took my Raptor today in for service at Larry H Miller Ford in Mesa Arizona. They have at least nine Raptors on the lot ready to be bought at sticker and they have a new customer thank you discount of $500. I am in no way affiliated with Larry H Miller Ford in Mesa Arizona

Damage from off-roading never bothered me all that much, because there’s always a good story attached to it.

But I’ll lose my shit if I get a ding from a shopping cart...

One of the pics I posted (above) is of a SuperCab Raptor which are rarer and more difficult to get

If you're in the market for a Raptor give Adriana a call and she'll help you get a brand new Raptor for less than MSRP ($500 off) from stock!

Lol I’m the same way. I’ve trashed a bed, a cab, a few front axles, etc. in the dirt in my Cummins, but I park in the farthest space possible so I don’t get door dings. Go figure.
