Birthplace of the first pizza (self proclaimed). Naples. Gotta say it was tasty. Your intrepid inmate and the Mrs., and some other pics of the charming streets in Naples.

When I was in Italy last year, I became obsessed with Napoli pizza with anchovies.. So good, I just wished they would cut it for you so I can eat it with my hands and stuff my face, because in Italy they eat pizza with a knife and fork.

This one is from a little place on Lake Como. Totally incredible and 8 bucks..

I built an oven in our backyard about 10 years ago, best thing I did for family time. Everyone loves the pizza and I try to make it as close to what they do in Italy as possible.

Here is an episode of the pizza show talking about Napoli...

Alright, I’m gonna come right out and say it, the food here is, somewhat . . . pedestrian. I’ve had better meals at Olive Garden, or Little Ceasars 😂. Maybe our palette isn’t quite as refined as the rest of you sophisticates.

Flame away, but the wifey and me have traveled the world and like our food back in the good ‘ol USA the best. There you have it.

We’ve stayed, and ate at, some nice joints here. We are being led by a couple of Army Rangers (retired) who were stationed in Germany and fought in the first Gulf War (they were the first artillery units into Iraq). Seeing the major WW2 battlefields in Italy, e.g, Anzio.

We are having fun but too much go, go, go.

C20 over and out.

No argument here. The breads were amazing. The pizza was good. Had some really good meals but nothing that stands out.

Our best meal in Italy was across the bridge from Venice in Marghera. The restaurant was owned by a Brit, had Hungarian servers and a Romanian chef. LOL No Italians on the staff.

For us the food in Italy depended on the region. We lived near Ravenna in the north and on the Adriatic coast. Their food was excellent.

I too just returned from 10 days in Italy, and I myself wasn't very impressed with the food, but it seemed we were always eating. I did love the wine though!
