Flathead Lake 2018

Just got back from a pretty fun trip up to Montana to visit my folks. They purchased a fully furnished condo in Lakeside, Montana situated feet from Flathead Lake. Comes with a electric boat lift and slip as well. This lake is massive and claims to be the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi (surface area). The area is pretty epic with the views all around and the multi million dollar lake front estates. Didn't take too many pics but here are a few.

Also, the most popular boats are either pontoons or wake board boats. We talked to the local boat dealer and he asked what boat we have (27 Eliminator Fundeck)..."hmm...never heard of Eliminator". Its funny to cruise around because most people have never seen a performance boat like that and they scratch their heads or take pictures trying to figure us out. If they only knew what goes on in havasu...

Very nice, would love to check that lake out one of these days! Looks like the wind could be a factor now and then with that large bay.

wind definitely makes things rough. It seems most people get out there from 4pm till dark which is around 930pm so plenty of great evening boating.

The lake is beautiful and is huge. Boated there a few times Yes it can get crazy rough in a heartbeat.

Beautiful lake was there in August years ago the water even in August was cold has fuck!! The houses are awesome on the lake with boat garages etc, would live there in a heartbeat but I hate the cold and snow!

right? i jumped in and my nuts went into my stomach..so cold. A local kid told me this is pretty much bath water for them and they float in it all day. the houses are insane.. one for sale is a 20 acre island with 3k SQFT boat house for 13.9 mil.

Looks like a great spot! My buddies in laws have a place there and he said the water can get big in a hurry, you have to watch the weather.

Not too sure but i did see a lot of Canadian flags. Maybe a lot of big money over the border.. BTW..here is that island pad i mentioned early.. INSANE.

Lots of filthy rich Canadians own places there. Lots of old US family money from cattle ranchers and then of course white collar families own retreats too. Its a gorgeous area. I’ll be there next weekend.

There are a lot of famous people with Summer places on the lake. Tom Selleck, Connie Chung and Hubby Povich for example. There are a lot of people in Havi who also have places on Flathead.

That's a beautiful lake, just drove by it last week on our way from Glacier Park to Yellowstone. I think you're right about the largest freshwater lake West of the Mississippi, that's what I was told also, by a Montanian.

I was born in Missoula and our family had a place on Flathead. Tons of great memories in the 80s of all of us kids sleeping out under the stars along the shore. Memorial weekend kicked off boating season and by Labor Day it was done. Property values have gone crazy in the last 20 years with out of state money pouring into the area.

That’s the lake...I’ve never seen more clear water. It’s hard to believe

I flew over flathead last week on my way to Wyoming from Kalispell. Look like a very beautiful lake. I need to get up that way sometime with the boat.
