Anyone try to but muriatic acid lately? All of the pool supply houses around me are OUT and do not know when they’ll get more in. Lowes and Home Depot had some today but limit it to two cases. They say they sell out every day and usually get shipments every few days but no gaurantee they will get more. The Lowes and HD brands are not as strong as the pool supply houses so I usually have to use more of it.

Acid was same time as liquid chlorine.
Note: anything construction related or service related is out of stock or near. There is no end in sight.
anything pool related is fukt.
2020 was the biggest year ever recorded in history for new construction and remodels of pools across the entire nation.
Now add in first quarter of 2021 was more pools then all of 2020 and 2019 combined ( unreal )
Equals over the top never seen before amount of holes with water in them across entire nation. Add in Texas floods that destroyed many many pools, Manufacture plant fires / explosions the list goes on
Add in ports that got delayed on top of delays. Supplies can’t get to manufactures, manufactures can’t get workers to come back after shut downs because they can collect unemployment and covid bonus’s, every manufacture has forecasted amounts for every distributor/customer with X amount of growth across the board. Now top it off with more demand in first quarter then entire years projected needs. When does in end? Not any time soon

Isn’t that wonderful. Had I known we were going to have an acid shortage I would’ve bought some last time I bought chlorine for the low low price of $155 for 50 pounds. 🙄

Not for long, it all comes from the same plants, lol

Pebble companies typically have pallets of acid and go through it weekly, Now limited on purchasing making them get creative. Concrete companies if they haven’t seen the shortage they will next time they order.

Shit water treatment plants are even being told they are only getting X amount of anything

Are they deposit jugs or disposable? If disposable, best to fill with water to dilute any residual. Dump in clean out or toilet and flush. Throw in trash. If deposit jugs return for credit if no longer needed
