My parents were nuts and way to nice, bought me a brand new SS Camaro. Black on black 6 speed. I was surprisingly crazy responsible with it. Proud to say I still have it in near mint condition. 49k on the odo.

First car I bought completely on my own was a 530i beemer. I was very proud of that but always was more protective, appreciative and connected to the camaro. Probably why I still have it, can’t bring myself to letting it go.

1947 Mercury, two door sedan, bought it from Marvell Kelly's Dad, paid $25.00 for it in 1963, drove it home on a Friday night, me & Pop did a oil change, set of new plugs & points an I drove that sumbich up to Pismo beach the following day to go to work as a "lot boy" at the Jeep dealership in 5 cities for part of the summer. Most weekends were spent "test driving" the new Jeeps in the dunes and the back country of Arroyo Grande.

1960 Chevy half ton pick-up truck. 160 bucks, in 1986
Engine knocked. L79 327, 350 hp.
My pops and I rebuilt the mouse motor at .030" over. Ditched the iron intake for an Eddy Performer & a 750 Holley DP.
New old stock cam and lifters from a Chevy dealer in North Carolina.
I scared many a corvette and camaro and five liter mustang with a farm truck with a dump truck transmission.

My first car was a 1990 ford ranger that was my uncles and my grandmas, she gave it to me with a brand new transmission in it. It had a 4.0 and was red. My friends named it the red rocket. I had put red accent lights in the cab and a cb radio. Off-roaded and jumped that thing forever. One day I was being stupid and drove that thing with out any water in it and cracked two heads and block. I put block sealer and that seemed to work and replaced both heads. Shortly after that I had major engine electrical problems. Sold it to my friend for 500 bucks and bought an 02 ranger. That I drove for 12 years and 1 new engine

I'll double check and see if my grandfather in-law ended up selling his 92 or not (I'm pretty sure it is/was a 92)

Check into. But I want the digital dash. They redid the dash in 1990. So I've only been looking at 1984 to 1989 C4's. Most want the newer C4's because they also have more horsepower. I just want the nostalgia, so even a lowest hp 1984 will do!

Since nobody into Corvettes wants the 205hp 1984, they are extremely cheap to buy. Example: https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/d/1984-corvetteoriginal-miles/6667382017.html

1971 Nova. It had a pretty mild .030 over with a nice cam(it would be the first engine I would build @ the age of 9)and th350 and a posi. That car was fun, unfortunately I thought I was in love and sold the car to free up finances..... the girl was gone shortly after the car, and I really miss my car

Mine was a 66 Chevy C10 fleetside with a stick and a 283. Me and my dad rebuilt the motor and put a turbo 350 in it. I sold my quad to buy it and my parents chipped in about $500 more for it. This started my love for the C10 fleetsides.

1987 Honda Civic si

$2500 bucks and 125,000 hard miles on her when we bought it.

Biggest pile of shit ever... in 2 years it needed a new clutch, engine and radiator.

Cost me a fortune and broke down a ton.

Finally traded it in on a 1996 Chevy regular cab when the tranny went out. I think I only put 7000 miles on it in two years....pile and the reason I have never owned another Honda...lol

Traded it for a 66 bug that I fixed up and sold for 1400.00 to buy a 63 bug. also had a few muscle cars along the way.

1962 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible. Dad bought for me in '72 for $50 if I would get a haircut. He didn't think it would grow back I guess.

I had a 1956 willys truck with a PTO winch that my dad called "mine", but the first truck I ever paid money for was a 1977 power wagon macho with a 440. Then a 1974 power wagon club cab, then I had an 89 dodge D50 that I traded for a 90 mitsu mighty max.

When I was 16 in 1996, for $4200 I purchased:

1969 Chevy Chevelle Malibu, small block 305 from an early 80's camaro, turbo 400 trans with B&M 2400 stall, 2.73 peg leg rear end. It provided loyal daily transportation through high school and college, constantly getting upgraded all the time. I need to scan the early pics.

Nowadays, its a small block 421" pump gas iron head motor, remac redid everything in the trans and 4k stall, 12 bolt rear end by diffworks with an auburn and 3.91 gears. What made my car unique back when was being one of the first cars, and definitely muscle cars in the area with an x pipe exhaust in 2000. 3" mandrel bent custom made deal, the car has always had a unique sound.

1963 Karmen Ghia - paid $600 for it.

Had it for a year or two - cleaned it up, gave it a $99 Earl Sheib paint job and sold it for $2500.

1970 Chevelle from..........Selman Chevrolet. My Mom bought it brand new and then most of us kids drove it when we were learning to drive in the late 70's. Too bad it only had the 307 in it. Not real cool at all. I bought it from my Dad in 1980 I think for $100.00. It was pretty beat up from my brother and sister before me. I sold it in 1982 I think for $75.00 lol and the guy wanted his money back because he blew it up on his first trip to Vegas.

'75 Chevy Vega, bright orange. Dad paid $300 for it when I was 15. The head was in the hatch back. After saving money to get the head done and put back together, my dad drove it until I could save the $300 to pay him back. Learned how to paint a car though, went from orange to white.

I loaned a girl money and she used her 1970 Ghia as collateral. She couldn't repay the loan. $300 and I got the car. Drove it around a bit, it was a great car and at the time parts cheap. 1994ish. My uncle restores classic Chevy's and has a spray booth. So I tossed a paint job on it and sold it for $2,800. Its another car Id actually like to get back.
