My Grandpa was "Mr Fire Department " his brothers and Dad along with a few Nephews. I think there was 11 at one point in the Department. My great uncle Bob was killed clearing a fire line in Malibu.

My great Uncle Larry was involved with the Northridge earthquake and many others. He was great at telling stories.

My River neighbor captain Dennis always reminds me of how Uncle Larry would ride a Indian motorcycle and be out scouting the fires. He would climb a telephone pole clip on a phone and call them in.

My 90 year old neighbor 3 doors over was my Grandpa's driver when he was battalion Chief. He went on to be battalion chief as well.

I have the utmost respect for Fireman that put there lives on the line for others they don't even know. My Grandpa life was cut short from all the inhalation he endured over the years. Best Man I have ever known.
