Figured I'd drop one in to push down the Bot Posts . . . . It'll take a little set-up to get to the punch line . . . .

In the 1980's about this time of year when we'd get a decent amount of rain, there'd be a ton of 'normal' debris that'd wash up on the beach near the mouth of the Santa Ana River.
Along with everything else, things like palm fronds, tumble weeds, and a ton of oranges would wash down from the orchards up river in huge amounts.
The state had some heavy equipment that they'd use after the storm to comb the beach and push everything into giant piles 20+ feet high , which they'd later. haul away.

One year we had a pretty strong series of rain storms, which was followed by a strong offshore Santa Ana winds condition for a couple days.
There was still a good amount of swell in the water from the storm, which made for a perfect combination of offshore winds and perfect overhead surf (super rare in HB)

If you haven't been to the beach during a strong Santa Ana, it's like getting sand blasted . . . we'd ride our bikes using our boards as sails and didn't have to peddle the whole way down !

On one of these days, my buddies and I got out of school and immediately bolted to the beach on our bikes w/ our boards . . . as we crossed PCH we could see the plumes of offshore winds peeling back the tops of the waves in between the giant pyramid-like piles of sand & debris. The backside of these piles on the ocean side was wind free as they acted like wind blocks.

As we rolled down the handicap / bike path through the sand storm and towards the water, I noticed 3 really good looking ladies walking back up the beach from closer to the water. They were all much older than us . . . thinking back on it now, they were probaly mid to late 20's LOL . . . but we were just in our teens.
They were all covering their faces and heads with towels, magazines as shields from the sand . . . . they didn't seemed thrilled about it.

One of my buddies 'Stevie-Doe' who was a COMPLETE character with no filter (visions of spicolli), immediately notices how hot these chicks are as they approach us on the path.
So here we are, a half-dozen high school kid surfers on bikes and Stevie-Doe starts in on them. . . .

"Hey Ladies . . . where are you going"???

They keep walking and aren't looking happy at all, but one replies as she walks by . . "We're leaving this blowing sand sucks".

Doe replies in a full on Spicolli voice . . . "Well Why Don't You Just G-String it Out Behind One of the Shit Piles and Stoke a Few Bro's Out" ?!?!? 😄 😆😆

We all completely lost it laughing our asses off at Doe's completely ridiculous comment out of left field.

The completely disgusted look they all gave him will forever be in my head !!!! . . . . they were already pissed off and this kid barks that call at them ! 😄

Oh the good old days . . .

That's so good LOL. As a huge surfer in my teens and 20s, I can attest to the one or two arguably 'perfect' offshore days we had down in HB. Those don't come along often at all.
