Hopefully the business owner has last right of refusal. I don't want to be dinning with my own dog in rest. Let alone somebody elses slobbering hound or shitty little yap yap dog. Can't they just leave well enough alone? FFS

We stopped for brunch at a cafe after we adopted our dog. Sat outside and right as we got our food the bastard took a shit right next to the table. We just crumbled and the other table got up and walked inside. By the time I was done cleaning it up I had no appetite, was fucking embarrassing and I have no desire to deal with that ever again.

Just so we're clear, you mean sitting at the table, and not served on the table?
The world's gone wonky, so I may be a tad worried.

Not a big fan of dogs in restaurants. But, our Newf was a ā€˜Rock Starā€™ at a couple of outdoor spots on the lake, the Outdoor Turtle Bar and the Outer Harbor outdoor grill and patio. She was always served a big bowl of water, full of ice, at The Turtle, as she laid at our feet, in the shade of our table. At the Outer Harbor, she always received her custom grilled hamburger, just meat. A lady who always laid with her front ā€˜paws crossedā€™ was not likely to be taking a dump in the area.

Why anyone goes to a restaurant I have no idea....why anyone would think it would be a good idea to bring the family dog out to an over priced under served dinner I cannot comprehend. We eat dinner every night with our dog....he's awesome, and I'd get him to bite you if you bitched about him....but you'd never see him at a restaurant....except maybe that one called the "lazy dog" in Cerritos where it was kinda the plan....we did that once. But kibble is cheaper than that and the dog doesn't give 2 fucks, as long as he has food.

Our dog Max is part of the family and if we invite you for dinner and you don't like him you can leave....and he'll eat your plate when you do.

Just when I thought we were making progress.
You and I must have different definitions of progressā€¦

I love my dog more than pretty much anyone and anything. Iā€™d save him from a burning building before any of your asses. That being said, heā€™s been to a restaurant with me ZERO times in his 11 years. Not a huge fan.

Used to go to lazy dogs, itā€™s fine if you got a chill dog. But 1 time a couple brought a dog that got explosive diareba mcintyre. Fukin was blowing mud everywhere, floor, chairs, ladyā€™s leg. The smell was enough to be locked in my memory, I canā€™t eat there again. Itā€™s like when you get sick off food and you write that off as you canā€™t ever have that again. Muscle gag memory is real lol

I meant progress on RDP threads taking longer than 10 posts to implode :)

There are three campsā€¦

-those that take an over bearing approach and pride in their pet dog, and need the emotional support everywhere they go.
-those that love their dogs, but also recognize that they are dogs / a pet / an animal (not human) and treat them as such (this is my camp)
-those that dgaf about your dog and would rather not be around them in public places.

One sister in law used to have to bring their dog to family gatherings etc, took it everywhere. Then they finally had kids, and the dog now stays home places when they go somewhere. Poor thing barely gets any attention anymore when weā€™re at their place for family gatherings lol.

Another sister just brought her 2 dogs to the Motherā€™s Day get togetherā€¦ so she can help ā€œtrainā€ the new dog (gotta have 2 because 1 just isnā€™t enough) weā€™re all sitting on the patio table with all the food laid out, and all you see is dog hair floating around everywhere landing on all the food. Needless to say 90% of the people around the table were not impressed and lost their appetite.

For the love of godā€¦ leave Fido at home when going out to eat. Serve up some food in their bowl and go enjoy some human interaction.

This FDA ruling now allows restaurants to make their own choices whether to allow dogs on patios in jurisdictions who did not have their own guidelines relating to dogs on patios, but relied solely on FDA guidelines. If the business owner want to allow dogs they can, if they do not, there is no requirement to do so.

Seems to me letting a business owner decide for themselves whether or not they want to let dogs on the patio at their place of business is a good thing? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

sort of like allowing a business to decide for themselves, whether their employees get vaccinated or not, is a good thing šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I'm glad I rarely eat out and only by necessity.. I always order to-go as eating with obese slobs has never been appetizing to me, an obese slob with a dog leading them around doesn't sound like an improvement.
