Hey has anyone ever installed this on their own boat? If you have how difficult is it to install? I have a boat all the way torn apart and getting the gel done this winter and want to put steering on it. How much does it run if a shop does it? I want a dual ram setup on a single bravo one.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Just did this last spring. Got all the parts from Teague (on sale the parts were 1500) then had WOT Marine in Carlsbad do the install. No way was I going to cut the holes in the transom . Not sure what the install cost was, since I had a bunch of other work done as well.

Is the engine in the boat? Is the drive and transom still in the boat? If we're talking about a dual ram add-on kit, if the transom assembly is still in the boat, depending on if engine is still in the boat, you're looking at roughly 300.00-400.00 for me to install it. The dual ram Imco add-on kits run around $2400.00. I'm a distributor for Imco and can order the kit for you if you'd like.

No the boat doesn't have the motor, drive, interior and hardware. The boat still has the mercruiser steering and transom in the boat. Ok great thanks a bunch for the information and price. If I ordered the kit from you could I install the system myself in the garage. It's the perfect time to do it since everything is off of it?

With the engine out, it's the perfect time for install. Nice easy access to the stock steering valve and easy mounting for the inside cylinder backup plates. You'll need to either re-hang the your drive or come up with an empty upper case for installation mach up. If the drive is off the boat, I use an empty case, makes for a light weight easy to move around piece. I need to know which factory steering valve you have in the boat, either Saginaw or Brazil. Then we need to specify the desired cylinder length. Imco makes their kits with (4) different available length cylinders. Basically, you need to measure from the centerline side of the transom assembly outbound. The cylinder placement on the transom could be one of these dimensions, 4.87, 6.37, 9.75, or 11.25 from the transom assembly. Once you determine the steering valve and the proper cylinder length, we can order the kit. The level of difficulty on the instal is a 2 out of a 5. It's just time consuming. And you need to make absolutely sure you get the mach-up correct before you start popping holes in the boat.
