.

It's January 1, 2018 in Texas! I just came inside from shooting off a few of my Excalibur mortars. These are without a doubt the best firework you can buy at roadside stands.

They come with a 2" HDPE tube, and sound like a 12 gauge when they launch. I'd guess the altitude at explosion is about 300', and they look like a professional shell when they burst.

Some great friggin' fun!

Happy New Year!

Those were my go to mortars, until i found a better option last 4th of July. I know, it's hard to believe but their is a better mortar now. I'll try and get a photo tomorrow of the box I hung on to.

Excaliburs go up about 75 - 100', have a really loud report and great burst. They were the best mortars for a long time along with Locked-N-Loaded. They quit making the L_N_L a couple of years ago and the excals have been upstaged.

for a cheaper but satisfying firework, Alamo fireworks stands have a "Plumbers Crackle" for $15.
A much better show than you would expect for that price.

It's true, we can't be trusted with anything like that. That being said isn't there someplace in Tonopah or Pahrump where you could purchase these types of devices for "research" purposes?

What! There's people in California that can't safely use chapstick yet they let them drive.

But anyone can start a wildfire in the riverbed with no repercussions in CA!

Typical Midwest 4th of July. Neighbors competing for the best fireworks display. ;)

I had a fireworks hookup. Old neighbor had a trucking company and would fill a trailer every fourth of July. He'd park the trailer in his buddies stores parking lot. What he didn't sell he'd let loose on New Years Eve.
