I know there’s a ton of brands around . Most of the black and dark grays we have tested will melt and peel up real soon .. anyone have personal experience with ones that they have no issues with ?

I have GatorStep on one boat and DeckX on another. So far no issues, but I tried to stay away from dark grey (and no black) and I think it really comes down more to how the surface was prepped and the adhesion of whatever adhesive is used.

Also never seen melting, even in Havasu.

They all use the same base material. So it is what it is.

Swing by my house I’ll show it to you…

The door on my x-flight cabin catches The afternoon sun when we put it in the slip… The three stairs that had seadek on them all melted and peeled…. It was literally in my original paperwork as a warning so I don’t blame Sadek for this… I’ve had other issues with the product that are not related but that’s not the point of this thread.

If you have a surface that reflects the sun especially in havasu it will destroy whatever product you put down it doesn’t matter the brand. Speaking with Chris Griner over at Detail specialties/dekx The suggestion was made to put a film on certain parts of my boat to reduce reflection. At the end of this season I intend to replace all of my Seadek with dekx and I will have them install that film at the same time.

Its not all the same .. I have got about 10 different pieces from different companies.. some have thin sticky back ,some have thick .. some are hard , some are soft … with that said some stick extremely well and hold up way better to heat . I was just looking to see if anyone had actual experience with a dark color holding up great lol
