Epoxy Floors

So…..
Wife is thinking about getting our whole house epoxied. I am not totally against it since she bitches all the time about our grout even though it’s only 1/8 in. But…. Does it scuff? I know it’s bad ass and you get get some pretty cool colors and designs but how does it hold up over time and what kind of maintenance does it need? I’m sure it’s $$$$. Anybody has any history or knowledge on this or a local IE contractor?

Don't epoxy, you want stained and polished. I have quite a few customers with polished floors in their houses and they look awesome. Cleaning is easy peasy and you only need to lightly wax the floor once a year

Problem is it’s not a new slab and areas of carpet which would have spalls from tack strip plus we redid the tile a couple years ago and the slab was pretty beat up removing the thin set. I just had my 2 projects grinded and polished. Looks great but new slabs. I would 100 % do it if my slab was nice

You can float a new floor with self leveling if the floor is really bad.

Polish it. Any coating is a maintenance item.

Yea I could with Ardex as long as it takes a stain. I got 2 different contractors doing polished floors and self leveling at my job. I’ll ask about the self leveling taking stain.
