Epoxy Flooring

Hi Fellas,

I have a friend who wants to epoxy (or similar finish) his garage floor. 1,000 sq ft and 500 sq ft in Marina Del Rey.
Anyone have a reference I can pass along?

I'm having my epoxy floors redone after 20 years in a couple weeks. A little fading in a few areas and a few where it peeled. @CoronaChris sells a newer product. Not sure if he has anybody in MDR.

2 pass grind and a sealer / hardener like Ashford Formula. Last for years. No maintenance

That is what he has now. He says it scratches easily. Looking forward to a change.

I just had mine done 2 weeks ago, and as the company said, the prep is key.

Anyone ever have any issues with epoxy chipping off because you drop tools on it? I even had the installer who did it the first time come back grind everything down again and redo them still have the same issue. Not sure if it’s how it was applied or the actual product used. My floors look great but the durability is not there….

If they tell you they are going to "etch" the floor and not grind it, run away!! Alot of guys just use the etching fluid and dont grind the concrete. If that's the case it will not last!! Jmo

Also, if the floor gets wet, it becomes slippery as snot. The company i used sprinkled aluminum oxide dust on it for more traction.

My father in law does these floors from time to time and says the same thing.
