ENTRIES

As of this morning I checked our Entry count, and on www.motorsportsreg.com we now have 18 Paid Entries to the Enduro Registered! 6 new Entries last night alone! Combine that with the Comp'd Sponsorship entries

Nordic - 2 entries
Krude Boys Racing - 2 Entries
Bowden - 1 Entry
Team Stoker - 1 Entry
And we have a total of 24 Confirmed Boats registered 3 weeks ahead of the Enduro! With many people still coming that haven't registered yet, this is shaping up to be the biggest 336 yet!

The extended registration for 400.00 is now over, and the new price for registration is 500.00! (600.00 day of event in cash only) Finish getting those registrations in guys!

MONEY ADDED DIVISIONS!! (Prize Money)

In some Big news for the Divisions Dave Rankin has decided to Donate his entire 5,000.00 race director fee to Division 7 (Grand Nationals) Providing they show up with a Full Field!

Bowden Developments has also decided to put 1,000.00 towards prize money (500 / 300 / 200 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd) in their Division!! I believe their division is either Division 8 or Division 9 (I have to get with Ben on which Division they are in as I'm unsure).

SPONSORSHIP AND FUND RAISING UPDATES!!

On the Fund Raising side of things we are at

Blue Water Resort and Casino - 7,000 - Host Hotel
Nordic Boats - 7,000 - Title Sponsor
Krude Boys Racing (NRKA) - 5,000 - Hall of Fame Sponsor (2nd shirt)

Private Donation - Team Stoker - 2,500 (Charter Sponsor)

Which has brought our total budget to 35,750!!! Big Thanks to Fred Bowden and Rivermobster (JMS) for helping out at the last minute! Still need another 3,000 or so (estimated) to go to be completely self sufficient (100% Entry payback race) and I am hoping to have that raised by this afternoon! :)

MINI BOAT ENDURO - CANCELLED, but Bring em down and show em off anyways. (see below)

We are going to take another crack at it in 2016.. We just couldn't get enough boats put together in time to make it happen this year. I think with some careful planning, and working with TLM, Schiada, Hill Marine, and some other guys we can make it a kick ass Mini Boat Extravaganza. For right now though not enough entries, and not enough time to finish putting something together that would be worth doing. Sorry guys..
There just wasn't enough interest to try to put it on this late in the game. We will be looking forward to working with TLM / Hill Marine / Schiada / and a few other companies and people to try to make it a full fledged Mini Boat Race in 2016.

In an Effort to promote the 2016 Mini Boat Race though, if you Have a Mini that you are considering racing in the Mini Enduro please bring it on down to the Enduro Saturday Morning and Park it on the Trailer on the Casino side in the Spectator Area. Note the boats must be parked, and the Tow Vehicle must be in the upper Parking lot by 9:00 AM.

SKI RACING IS ON!!

I don't have all the details yet from the NWSRA, but I do know all the final details have been worked out and their will be Ski Racing Saturday Morning before the Enduro!! I will have what races they plan on running and when in our next update.

SPECTATORS

This year We will have a large spectator area on the Beach over by the Cantina! We have moved the outramp over to the Marina side. So Bring your EZ UP's / Chairs / Coolers!! You don't have to worry about closed toe shoes, etc.. In the Spectator Area! We have borrowed 3 Polaris Ranger Crew's (5 - 6 passenger sxs's) to shuttle people and gear from the Parking lot Above, to the Cantina / Spectator area below. This is all free, but it never hurts to tip the driver.. (Especially if he helps you load an EZ up and cooler into the bed of the ranger)

THERE IS NO PARKING OF ANY KIND IN THE SPECTATOR AREA OR DOWN BELOW THIS YEAR!! RACE TEAMS ONLY 1 Vehicle / 1 Boat. If the Truck / Car doesn't have the pit pass Sticker on the window (changed for 2015 FYI) then it's not getting in. If it's parked down there without a sticker it will be getting towed.

Thank you very much to Matt and Wendi Haynes for letting us Borrow their Polaris Crew and to Tim from Paradise Auto Sales in Lake Havasu for letting us Borrow his Ranger Crew! The third Ranger Crew is mine. That should be more then enough to move the crowds from the top to the bottom and vice versa.

This year is shaping up to be the best 336 Yet and we look forward to seeing not only the racers out there but the Spectators as well!!

RiverDave doesn't require anything, or even know what constitutes a full field.. That's a Rankin Question.

From what I know there are already 6-7 GN boats so we will have a full field and be running for points.

Here's the options at this point for the 2015 Enduro.

Register online for 500.00. Up until Oct 15th which online registration closes.

Register in person at qualifying morning for 600.00 per boat.

What you choose to do with that information is entirely up to you.

Maybe you should leave them and yourself at home! Your the only one on here who constantly complains or has negative input about the 336. It gets real old seeing you bash everything Dave has to say.

Why don't you stop responding to Poundsand. If I were you I would just ignore him . He is correct about the Sanction but regardless I know who he is. Stop responding and he will stop posting. Someone has to take the place of Bob GN 7 and liven up this thread.. He and many others will be at the Enduro supporting the race and having a good time.

If there is an error on the sanction for this race somewhere, please feel free to point it out to me and I will have it rectified. I personally haven't read it.

I don't care much for the politics of boat racing and the APBA etc.. I try to stay out of them when at all possible.

Anyone remember the Enduro as a 9 hour event then went to a 7 hr? Used to be a Boston Whaler that ran in it. Bill Seebold would bring 3 boats to it.

Yup, a 17 ft as I remember with a 3 cyl 70 hp Johnson, he ran the outside line and was never in the way. he sat on the std. whaler wood bench seat. I've probably got a pic buried in a pile some where.

As I recall, the switch from a 9-Hour Parker Enduro to a 7-Hour race came in February 1974. When the first U.S. energy/gas crisis hit in the last quarter of 1973, the Parker race committee decided it would be a "politically correct" move to reduce the duration of the race by two hours. And yes, the outboard powered Boston Whaler ran the race several times and did a good job of staying out of the way of the other 100+ racers. Back then, it was a true "run-what-you-brung" style of race -- rules and restrictions on boats and engines were almost non-existant.

And still should be! as long as you fit into the class/division, your race with in your class. back then we had as many as 35 Mod-VP entries and non of us cared that we wouldn't beat the Mercury and OMC tunnel boat entries if they race the distance. This handicap stuff is for the birds. :D

I Do! and yes he was in the way, recall coming up on what I thought was a pleasure boat that was mistakenly on the race coarse during qualifying, complete with bimini up. I'm all for lots of participation, but these guys need to run the river bank, and stay out of the main line. At all costs Hold their line.

I miss the Le Mans start and the pits and refueling in the water. Pretty exciting as the boats came in and left the pits!
I also remember when it was mostly inboard boats and then Mercury showed up with their
18 wheeler and big bucks. The race really changed after that. No more Le Mans start as the drivers all lined up and then ran for their boats. Pretty exciting show.

:hmm

Carl from where I am standing poundsand falls way short of filling Bobs shoes... :D

Oh, I dunno Maxi, poundsand seems to fill Bob's shoes in the hard headed and mouthy departments...

Falling short in other areas would be something only you GN guys would know about...you know...all those sleep overs n' shit...

Patrol boat did fire a flare at him,, guess he finally left the course after being black flagged at the other end, but turned and came back on the course. This year patrol boats will have bazookas and torpedo launchers!

I have some old home movie footage that was converted to digital if I can find a copy. The hard drive that it was on has so far not been able to have the data recovered. 1969 Parker 9 Hour including some footage at Lou Brummett's shop, where my dad was helping set up the boat, and also practice day. No, it's not 9 hours long, movie film was not real cheap, and it does not show the drivers running to their boats since it was shot on the hill, but did show the 100 plus boats leaving the beach. Tons of cool details,, all the trucks had cab over camper shells (Except Lou's wife Nadine would not allow them to tow with a truck, they had a Mercury Marquis or something). Shot of Coor's beer showed that it was a novelty item. Once I can get it found will see about uploading some or all of it.

I don't remember if it was the 9 or 7 hr we watched a couple years, but that was a lot of beer drinking and bench racing. [emoji39]
I probably could have hung with RD in the day. [emoji23]
