It is working how it should. The gravity makes it drop so you just have to spin the handle CCW to lift. MAG drills are a great tool just make sure you tie it off if you’re using it on a wall on ceiling. If someone unplugs it or breaker trips it will lose its magnet and come crashing down.Can somebody school me up on this thing. How do get the bit to stay up. I feel like it’s working backwards right now.

Found the wing nut thank you. I’ll use that to hold it up while it’s not being used on the table and then gravity while I’m drilling holes. I was going to order a standing drill press but this might be more than enough for how often I’ll be using it.There should be a wing nut on the side of the slide to hold it up.
I would be more than happy to take one of those before it ends up in the trash.
I could use one of those in my garage.
