Electric motor gurus?

So I have a Scotsman ice maker and the drive motor burned up the windings some how. Scotsman wants 2k for a new assembly. I took it to a local electric motor repair shop and they want 800 to repair it. If I can find the match and just switch out the outer piece with a new good one, we should be good. You can see the burn mark inside where it gave up the ghost. Here is the markings on the motor and the tag from Scotsman.

Its the motor for the drive for pushing the ice out. Its attached to a gear box and that's why the overinflated price.

You will be surprised what's out there, especially with older stuff, found condenser motor cap and installation plate for old rheem unit less than 100. Good luck! ice machines suck.

It is a queer motor. Hopefully just replace the stator. The shaft is odd and it has a governor on the top that activates the compressor.

There's a 02-4399-01 (p/n one digit off yours) on eBay for $750. You can also buy a new replacement motor from several vendors.

These prices are crazy. A new motor and gearbox is almost $2K.

Whats a little brass amongst friends? Its a flaked ice machine. I call it mexican food ice. I stepped up and ordered the complete deal off amazon for a decent price. Just sell some more shit on ebay so it doesn't hurt so bad.

It already makes enough noise and uses enough energy. If I leave it on all the time it adds 50.00 or so to the electric bill. Now its on a timer.
