My buddy sold his house and he's currently traveling around while his new pad gets built. So he let me borrow his herman miller chair.

Holy crap it's awesome!!! An American icon, and the most comfortable thing I've ever sat in.

It's $$$$ but you can get them on sale sometimes he said. I'm getting one as soon as he asks for it back. Worth it!

Any of you guys have one?

HOLY SHIT!!! How hot is the girl that comes with it. If I spent that kind of money on a chair my wife would want to know who is taking over the BJ duty.

I was thinking it better have Auto suck and automatic flatulent extractors. 😳

I’ve got a knock off one, I think it was about $800 or so. I couldn’t justify the expense for a real one considering its mass produced production chair. The quality knock offs are the same.
How is it? Is it actually comfortable? I may do that since this one was $8k full price

Might even be better cause I don't have to worry if I accidentally spill coffee on it or get a sloppy BJ. Just take some vinyl sauce to it and it's all good!!! lol

I agree, the knock offs seem to be basically the same quality.

They are made for someone that is like 5'9" though, if you are over 6' tall they feel small imo.

Started going down the rabbit hole, lots of sellers online.. Probably all comes from a few of the same factories in China.

Gotta stop it and get back to work. I still have the real deal for the meantime, might as well enjoy it and not stress about it lol

Yes, we have that one as well as another style that is an aluminum frame with green tweed. The green one stays at my office because the wife says it doesn't go with our house... lol. I picked it up probably 15-16 years ago, just before I met her.

The one I ended up with is the same as the real ones I’ve sat in🤷‍♂️ ordered online and had it shipped to my door.

My wife is on the hunt for a new entertainment console so we have been trudging through local furniture stores like crazy the past couple of weeks. My interest always go to the high end stuff and while walking through Scan Designs I spotted an Ekornes chair. I've seen them on CL's while bargain basement shopping for high end stuff cheap and all the adds said how amazing they were. Anyway, I sat in a new one and they are just as described, stress less! Not the same chair as the OP posted about, but this chair was awesome. I would never pay full retail for it, but it is a great chair and worth decent money. Seems like you can find them for about half price on CL or offer up before a furniture second hand store snaps them up and jacks up the price. If you have never sat in one, try it out.

I’ve seen these for years, obviously would only consider a knock off, but frankly even those seem expensive for a ‘chair’.

Are they really that comfortable?

I’ve always been more of a classic leather cigar or club chair guy.

Anything has got to be more comfortable then this shitty “cloud” sectional couch my wife picked out. Sits on the damn floor practically, cushions never stay put.

But it “looks good”. FML

The recliner Lazy Boy we bought around 1990 is still as good as new I use most of the time I'm in the living room. The recliner leather sofa and chair is used when visitors in the house. Chairs or car seats are very important for extended times we spend in them. My 1972 Volvo 1800 has the most comfy and plush driver and passenger seats, only rivaled by my buddy's 1968 Marcedes with its all original red leather seats. Something about European cars focus on comfort.

Have you went furniture shopping lately? Holy inflation and markups! The Chicom bonded-leather crap they hawk is disgustingly overpriced and uncomfortable as hell I found. Won't last long either. But something US made that's 3-4x more expensive but will outlive you, doesn't actually sound so bad!

Mom has one. I can tell the difference between a real and knock off. They’re legit lol.

When we bought the RV, The factory reclining theater seating were terrible. poor quality, uncomfortable and built for someone about 5'8". I'm 6'4". They were too short for my wife at 5'9". We replaced them with chairs we bought from Macy's that are very similar. The biggest difference is mine are high back. We caught them on sale and then somehow got 50%off on top of that. Not sure on the brand but very good quality. Still were not cheap.....

Yea, the most comfortable chairs I own are in my RV.....

They (HM as well as the knock offs) now make a "tall" version that is for 6' +

Holy shit, some of you guys are nuts. I never want to hear anything from y'all about what chicks spend on purses, etc. 😂 For that much money, that chair should come with a 50hp outboard, at least! 🤣
Lol the chair appreciates if it’s legit.

It’s that time of the year - these chairs are on sale. This is a sale notice I got from a vendor but the manufacturer provides the sale direct also.

Thanks!! I'll probably wait 6 months until the next sale because I still have the chair in the meantime. Maybe it will be a 25% sale then who knows. I will probably go to a showroom first to see what I want, because I read there is XL versions, I think that'd be better for me

My Dad bought one in 1964, its still in perfect shape and in Moms house. If I remember, it was 500.00 at the time and the cushions are filled with duck down. As a kid, I was never allowed to touch it let alone sit in it. My youngest son had put dibs on it years ago. They are very comfortable.
