Good evening! Just sharing a few pictures from our meal tonight.

We haven't been out camping in far too long, and I was itching for a good dutch oven cobbler. I raked back a few weeds in the back yard and leveled out some dirt. I surrounded the fresh soil with a few red bricks then lit some Kingsford coals in a baby Weber grill. Once the coals were ready, I threw a few on the ground in my imitation fire ring. We set the dutch oven over the coals and I had the kids help me add the goodies.

We put the lid on and added about 20-ish coals on top. I spread a few more coals around the base of the dutch oven and went back to work grilling up some steaks for dinner.

I finished grilling some steaks and corn, whipped up some Spanish rice and toasted some sourdough bread in the toaster.

The kids mixed up some salad and we waited for my wife to get home from work. Once she got home, we sat down and ate while the desert was cooking.

After an hour had passed, I pulled the lid and brought the dutch oven inside. It smelled better than it looked!

I scooped some out for everyone, then added some vanilla ice cream on top. It was fantastic!!

Rough math for briquettes-
25°F per. 14 on top is 350°F.
And half as many on the bottom.
It's worked well for me.

Good evening! I was off of work today and spent the day running some errands. I decided I would cook some dinner for my wife and kids so it would be ready when she came home. I cut up and browned some chicken and sweet sausage, then added it to a Jambalaya mix. The kids toasted some sourdough bread and I mixed up a blueberry cobbler. Needless to say, it was amazing! 😁
