Drinking Question for Boat Cop?

If I am driving the boat can other people be drinking alcohol while the boat is in motion? Been a debate between my friends and I for years just want to clear this up.

The answer is YES. Even the driver but if BoatCop sees you...you will be stopped and tested. Over .05 maybe you go and over .08 you go for sure.

Not worth it on many grounds but your passengers it's ok. Then there is drunk in public so tell your drunkards to behave...LOL.


Oh yeah BoatCop has a Tazer which he just loves BTW.

If boatcop sees you and your passengers are NOT drinking you will be pulled over as obviously something strange is a foot.

No drunk in public law in AZ. As long as they're not being total assholes and disturbing others (Disorderly Conduct), they can be as drunk as they can handle.

DISCLAIMER: The town of Parker has a city ordinance that prohibits being intoxicated in public within 1/2 mile of a school. Which pretty much covers the entire town.

So do you make alot of busts at the park by the rodeo ring? I don't think in 25 years I haven't seen a bunch of indians sitting there getting hammered :hmm and this includes all hours of the day :thumbsdown or can they do it there with imunity? :hmm

There is a real simple answer here. Dont drink and operate a boat. There is always someone around that has the ability to operate a boat who will unwillingly not drink when others are. It is legal for passengers in a water craft to consume while under power or not under power.

I have seen way to many incidents that involve impairment one way or another in vehicles and boats. Not saying I have never done it in the past, but its just not safe to do and the consequences it causes are tremendous to deal with let alone the lives and property it destroys.

If I am the operator I choose not to drink, hell its difficult enough IMHO operating a vessel sober with all the crazies on the river/lake; I dont think, hell I know I couldn't operate one safely if I was impaired with all that is going on.

I still party it up and am not a buzz kill but I want to see my family and myself make it a long time having fun times on the water.

I don't go around toot'n my horn that I'm a non drinker, but I haven't had one since 2001, 8 years but who's counting I'm not AA and not in any 12 step or program I just took alcohol out of my life. All my friends and family still drink which I don't have a problem with at all, but it is sure nice being the DD and getting these people back safetly :thumbsup I've literally had my boat full of passed out people coming home from RR, Fox's ect. I would pick up, hang out then drop off, not a prob

I've pulled into our slip with the passed outs and whoever I could wake up went to the house but those that didn't, woke up in the boat the next day wondering what the hell they did the night before

Memorial, Labor and 4th of July are weekends we don't go to the river, way to crowded these days to have a good time for me :thumbsdown It gets so packed up by the dam with floaters that it's like going through an obsticle course, and that's just backing out of the slip I went 2 years ago on the 4th just cuz we haden't been there on a big weekend since the 90s and looking out this front window I counted 42 boats floating :thumbsdown Picture 42 boats fitting in this 8' x 5' window and you'll get the picture :thumbsdown Any other weekend you can use me, but not the big ones

Wow cuz I didnt think it was that bad on holiday weekends. Its been a long long time since I have been to the river on a holiday weekend. Hell even Pleasant I stay away from on holiday weekends...I still consume, however I do it wisely and usually after someone has stated they are going to be the DD or were back at camp and not going out..:champagne::champagne:

Although I do have to say the pics you took of the schiada at the regatta hauln looked sweet...That is just amazing at the speed they can obtain. What is the fastest you have seen? Also I have been wondering kinda related to this thread (maybe boat cop can help out) Is there a max speed limit on the river or lakes in AZ? (not that I will ever hit it...lol)

1) arrive Friday

2) pick a person you want to drive saturday (but dont tell them)

3) Get them completely trashed

4) just when you think they have had enough, take them to RR and buy them a couple road rapers to really put them over the edge

5) By the time they wake up saturday, they will be so hungover that they dont want to drink for the whole day

6) Now you have your DD and your able to party it up on saturday

So far it has worked out pretty well for me:thumbsup

What is the fastest I've seen out of a Schiada? The fastest I've ever been in one is probably around 105 - 110. There's no speed limit on Parker strip.. and god willing there never will be.

I can relate with Coz.........................used to party hard............REAL HARD:skull but at this point in my life I'm just not into the heavy drinking anymore. Not that I don't like to hang out with people who party............as long as they are not addicted to DRAMA I love hangin with people who love to party............PURE ENTERTAINMENT I'm always up for a good night time adventure:skull
