Right?

If true man...the amount of waste to cut is going to be a monumental task.

Current top 10 DOGE findings this week. Crazy

Can't possibly be true. This has to be a joke.

Look, we're sending $50 million a year for condoms in Gaza so anything is possible at this point!

To quote Nick DiPalo, "I didn't think 12 year old boys could get pregnant!"

I wouldn't be surprised if they are true.

The bigger issue is the whole culture. Things that cost 50 billion that should cost 20 billion are probably standard operating procedure. Do away with Title 9 sports while they are killing DEI.

Not true.

The sad part is we’ve all seen so much waste and stupidity that we think it could be true…

I think its time we also ended Peanut subsidies.
I mean Carters gone--and subsidies have been paid for almost 100 years.
Let market control the price and let farmers grow what they want at the profit the market provides.

I was a California state employee for 28 years,. Not exactly a model of government efficiency. But our coffee, potlucks, Sushi, doughnuts, Christmas luncheons, retirement dinners, etc. were not paid for with public money. When cell phones usage was billed by the minute we heard about it if our bill was to high. Even the Chief of the Bureau of Automotive Repair (Jim Schoning) was directed to pay his state owned cell phone bill back because he used it for personal calls. The Director of the Dept. of Consumer Affairs (Schwartzenegger appointee) Carrie Lopez was forced to resign for traveling on alleged business trips but actually taking her daughter to Disneyland and to see Justin Beiber. I didn't think that the Federal Government was any different in that regard. We got our asses chewed once because we had an early morning meeting in LA and three of us flew out at noon the day before and went and had lunch at Venice beach. What they are finding here is appalling.

y’all should see what’s in Rand Paul’s festivus report. Just read pages 3-4

I read the entire thing, and I'm probably one of a few thousand people that have done so. It's disgusting, and the criminal spending outlined in the document is no doubt just a speck of fly shit on a wall of insanity.

Trump's shutdown of the USAID agency last week stopped all foreign aid efforts, and it's about time these money incinerators were called to task. So far Musk says he's stopped about $4 billion per day in spending, and he's just getting warmed up.

I understand all that USAID stuff was implemented by JFK with an exec order. Easy to undo

Sort of…

After his inauguration as president on January 20, 1961, JFK created the Peace Corps by Executive Order on March 1, 1961. On March 22, he sent a special message to Congress on foreign aid, asserting that the 1960s should be a "Decade of Development" and proposing to unify U.S. development assistance administration into a single agency. He sent a proposed "Act for International Development" to Congress in May and the resulting "Foreign Assistance Act" was approved in September, repealing the Mutual Security Act. In November, Kennedy signed the act and issued an Executive Order tasking the Secretary of State to create, within the State Department, the "Agency for International Development" (or A.I.D.: subsequently re-branded as USAID), as the successor to both ICA and the Development Loan Fund.

Also found this gem. Wonder if it’s still in effect?

In 1995, legislation to abolish USAID was introduced by Senator Jesse Helms, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who aimed to replace USAID with a grant-making foundation. Although the House of Representatives passed a bill abolishing USAID, the measure did not become law. To gain congressional cooperation for his foreign affairs agenda, President Bill Clinton adopted in 1997 a State Department proposal to integrate more foreign affairs agencies into the department. The "Foreign Affairs Agencies Consolidation Act of 1998" (Division G of PL 105-277) abolished IDCA, the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, and the United States Information Agency, which formerly maintained American libraries overseas. Although the law authorized the president to abolish USAID, President Clinton did not exercise this option.
