I'm just curious. I like the idea of having a naturally aspirated motor that puts out 860 H.P. with a two year warranty. This could be a game changer.
I'm guessing you'd have to run a #8 with it?

I heard mid $90's. . .
since it is an NA I assume you could upgrade the hp when its time for a refresh. How much hp can a 6 drive handle. Can you get the 860 with an 8
What upgrades do you expect to do to a highly strung NA motor like this? Anything you do to it will be tens of thousands. It is not a mass produced big block and you are stuck going through Mercury for parts. There are no intake options, the exhaust looks good already. If you change the cams you'll need 4 custom ground cams. You could have port work done, if it has not been done yet as part of this stock configuration.
I don't see you getting a ton more out of this reliably.
Tony told me Friday. For the life of me I can't remember but 86 pops into my head. That's including the drive.
What about super charger or turbos?
I think it has a 7k redline which is nice too. You'll be able to run smaller Pitch props and still pull big numbers.
It's tuned to run 89 so you could probably gain a little when someone like whipple makes a tune to run 93 but it probably won't be much gain.
That is awesome, but keep in mine this engine makes that kind of power because it revs to 7k.
Says 135k w m6 on Facebook. It says maintenance intervals twice that of the 1350. Does that mean it is higher maintenance?

I didn't know they still made the #6

I've heard of them and you can watch videos of them in action . Not cheap but haven't heard of failures yet. I think there are a few 32 spectre cats with them. I believe you flip the helmet on the transom assembly to mount them . They appear to be good stuff as far as I know from the old interweb.Speaking of drives, has anyone here heard of x power drives? Read a story by a guy a couple years ago by a guy who designed and built a new bravo style drive and was putting about 12 to 15 hundred hp to it with no problems. I think he was from az.

No I think it means you can run it for twice as many hours before maintanance intervals. Not sure on the cams, but the bore and stroke are identical to the 1300. It may the same internals minus the boost, which would make it last longer
Stop it with all that reason!!
Throw a throttlebody spacer on it and a set of MSD coils [emoji23]
9-liters / (552 ci), 9.75:1 compression...doesn't seem TOO highly stressed, does it?
I'd love to see the torque curve.
If so that's a smoking deal. Remember not too long ago the Mercury 850 was like twice that price and had to be rebuilt very 25 hours.
Tony from DCB texting me this am the pricing on this motor. I couldn't figure it why, but now I know.. lol
It is 134,000 which is motor / transom assembly and M6 drive
Wow...You could get 2 Teague 825's for that price!
