Got a call at 4:30pm this afternoon, dryer in the rental is not producing heat. Got the model number and hit google with a search. For some reason, i decided to type in "Kenmore dryer parts Temecula", and the first hit was DIY appliance parts website, which had a storefront only 4 miles from where I sat. Called the number, guy asked for a make and model #, and then told me what parts he had in stock and what the common issues are. Jumped in the truck, made it before 5pm close, he asked some more questions and told me what he would do if it was his dryer. His advice was spot on. Didn't try to sell more parts than I needed or refer a repair guy. I bought a pair of coils for $35 and an hour later the dryer is making heat again.

Sounds like you made a call to 1995 lol. We don't get that kind of service in 2024.

I had that exact experience with that store. Those classic style appliances are still easy to fix, the new stuff like Samsung and LG I'm told are much more expensive and complicated. Instead of a pair of coils for $35 you need a new computerized control module for $500.

They are also a Speed Queen dealer, which is nice because both the units in my house are used speed queen's. Having no computers in these appliances is key. Makes no sense to me why a washer or dryer need to be fancy or "smart".
