Dirtyfest BMX Reunion weekend April 12-14

If you are into to OldSchool BMX you don't want to miss this weekend at Vail Lake Resort, last year was a blast.

I used to LOVE those drawings like that in the BMX Plus magazines!!


I was in one of the local bike shops in Ventura yesterday and saw they had the gold and black edition retro Race Inc 29".
usually 1300 down to 800. I was SOOOOOOOOO tempted to buy it right on the spot! LOL
Not even skimping on the parts either. Redline flights? NICE. The gold annodized does something with my brain. It's like a smell or a taste or hearing a song that takes me right back instantly to the 80's and BMX.

Planet BMX has them in colors and 26" too. Buy one. I've heard they ride really nice and they won't be making more.

I really should just go buy the one they have. I just definitely don't need another bike (still have a 20" PK Ripper, 24" Floval, 24" Quad and 24" Profile). I guess I could sell the Floval to make room. hmmmmmm

Talking to the wrong dude about bike count buddy! Buy the damn bike! It matches the boat!

LOL. I know we've covered this but I've bought and sold a LOT of cool 80's and early 90's bmx bikes - Pattersons, Hutch's, Kuwahara's, Rippers, Race Inc.'s, CW's, etc. etc. Wish I had the room to keep them and I would've. I just don't. Only one I really wish I kept was my bought new 97 20" PK Ripper my buddy has now and a 24" Patterson I built up and sold on ebay. era correct. beautiful. Sold it for a grand like 15 years ago.

This is sitting next to me so I'll share. Alliant Pro XL non serial number. Never been built. Mike Devitt and Gary Turner had a short lived company together after SE sold and Sal Corea welded them. Sal was the welder for all the SE and Race Inc stuff bitd. I also have the matching mini out in the rec room.

That Alliance frame is beautiful! It sort of reminds me of a cross between a Formula and some newer Haro frames. Of course the details are different.

Sold my award winning 26” Cook Bros. Cruiser about ten years ago for $4,500 . Within about three years it was worth $15,000 now they tell me it’s worth 25,000 no doubt one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done.

Baby blue 26" is a VRP quad that was built by Sal Corea post SE. Not sure how many were built? I still have this one, but kick myself for selling the other as it had way more $ in it.

1975 I was 14 and already fully grown to 6' 6" and a 36" inseam. I didn't really spend much time on my Schwinns but I did have one with the 3 speed shifter like in a car. At 15 I bought my first CZ. Today I was racing my second one at the CZWorld Championships.

The Dirt here is magic. I first raced here in 2015 then 2016 it was flooded and the race moved to Hangtown. Always a bucketlist track to ride on.

Oh man, that guy absolutely ruled the Pipeline back in the day. Just literally did everything better than anyone else by a lot.
