for my brother today...wasn't too terribly difficult. We're hanging out in here drinking beers at 76 degrees now. Just waiting for the foam to dry and I'll trim it out for him tomorrow.

Bon Aire? Our's works pretty well. But, the LHC water is hard on it. Cleaning the internals with white vinegar helps.

Yeah it's the bonaire, it's what I have on my house as well. They work really good, and same here in Vegas the water is super hard. A calcium filter does help. He lives in a HOA so we made sure it looks good from the street.

A swamper really is the way to go to cool a garage. Much more economical, works really well, and many things in the garage can benefit from the extra humidity.

I was explaining this to my brother as well. I did tell him it might even help the rooms above his garage as well. His garage, office, and daughters room all face west unfortunately. I told him to keep it running until monsoon season. He's one of those tech type of guys so he already ordered some infrared blah blah deal that he can control with his phone with fan speed n stuff. That's his deal I just do the grunt work and make sure the install is properly done.

They're right around $600, accessories to get it going probably another $100 tops. They're probably the best swamp cooler on the market.

We paid a little over $500 ,that was a couple years ago. At that that time SCE offered a $200 rebate, made it a sweet deal. We also have a Mastercool thats very similar and a little cheaper its at our lake house, we actually like it better. From Costco, got the same rebate from SCE on it too

Is it more efficient with the garage door opened or closed? :p
Cool delio. I learn again something new every day on RDP.
Nice install Nordie.

My AC in Havasu went out yesterday. Fired up the swamper in the garage and opened the door from the house to the garage with A fan. Got me thru the night until Carey showed up this morning.. :p

My brother sent me the sensor from his garage door opener. Can you tell what time we fired it up? The slight climb was from us opening the garage to tidy up some things outside.

We had the Mastercool version (gave it to my dad now for his garage). I put an inline ice maker filter in the supply line and never saw much of any residue on the media or inside anywhere really.
