Are they still around?

It's a cold rainy day (I actually have a heater on) so I'm watching YouTube videos of boating and some are of the Delta. It's been many years since I've been over there and last time I was solo and got lost. :oops:đŸ˜‚ I'd really like to explore it more but want to run with boaters that know the area. I figure I have a couple months before I have to put the boat up for the winter and would like to hit the Delta before then. Any Delta people here that want to be a guide?

They are alive and well, the Hooky Day Run is Friday October 6th. They launch out of Orwood Resort in Brentwood between 9 and 9:30, they usually have 4 to 5 stops. It’s a great day on the Delta typically mid eighties, I was going off and since 05 up until I sold my 28 Howard Bullet in August of 21.

Other than not being able to attend Hooky Day if you wanted to go, I can show you around if you want.

Thanks for the info. Brentwood is 200 miles from me so I guess I'd get a room somewhere. Is that a safe area to leave a boat outside in a hotel parking lot?

I'll hit you up if I can't go that day.

The congregation in the Outboard Church includes many Delta boaters. Single outboard boats mostly, though, so it depends on what you are running.

hooky day is a great run to meet people and run the delta, boats are all types and all are welcome. a lot of people stay in Brentwood, but I dont think i could vouch for the safety of your rig there, heard that you can store boat at discovery bay marina and would be secure, you can check or maybe someone else knows setup, disco is close to Orwood where they start. there are lots of folks on RDs that do DLB runs that Iam sure will give you input fell free to text me if I can help.

See if you can leave your boat in Discovery Bay as another member mentioned, there are some places you could stay off of Balfour. Glad to help out if I’m available.

Looks like I can't male Hooky Day as I have fire training class on that day.

I guess I'll look into Discover Bay area to see about places to stay and store the boat overnight for another run. If I could get some friends to commit I'd get a VBRO house in the bay for a few days.

hookie day is the one you don't want to miss, i've been going on the run since 2004 just a all around great time on the water with a great mix of boats( talking a easy 40+ boats). there use to be a group of vdrive/jets that set out on a big delta day trip around 15+ boats. i can't remember who put it together but ill do some homework for you.

There's B&W Resort, link below, at Hwy 12 and Brannan Island Road. Cabins, launch ramp, 24hr fuel, slips, store, etc. For food there's Korth's Pirates Lair, Wimpys, Tower Park, Sugar Barge, Rusty Porthole and others within a 5 to 20 minute boat ride, all on the water with docks. During the summer, most have live music. Not sure how much longer the music continues after Labor Day, but October is the ideal weather month. Cool at night and 80's during the day.

DLB is a bunch of great people. I sold my Daytona and once I get a new house figured out, I will be looking at getting into another big boat to be able to head over the hill and boat the delta. It is a blast and so much area to explore. I had an amazing escort @Bullet28 my first time down there with my Daytona a few years ago.

Are you in the Battle Born Hot Boats group? Someone posted a Lahontan run on Sept 16 so I might do that. Going to hit Topaz this coming weekend.

Yeah been friends with all of those guys for a long time. Not sure but we may try the 16th for our last trip of the season. Have some work to do on the Eliminator Com Ski before, should have that done this week.
