Happy Birthday 77, a guitar Master of Pink Floyd has a Birthday today. He was not an original member of the band and replaced Syd Barrett, who had personal issues. There are only a handful of Guitar Players who can be identified by their signature sound. Happy Birthday!!

I love listening to Gilmour talk about almost any subject. He is one cool guy and a killer guitar player.

I occasionally work on my efforts to mimic his solo on the song Time, from Dark Side of the Moon.

It's not going so well.

Did you know that Gilmour made sure Sid Barrett got his royalties from Pink Floyd every year til his death? Gilmours voice and guitar are what make pink floyd for me. I love waters' showmanship but Gimours guitar is on another level.

I was 2nd row, center at Jeff Beck's last show. Jeff was/is on a level of his own.
Gilmour, my GOAT, said that Beck was his pick of best. Argument over.

If we’re talking about Guitar Gods, don’t forget Robert Johnson. He did things with a guitar that few can mimic. Eric Clapton annd Led Zeppelin covered his music, and his character appeared in the movie “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou”. Only recorded one album though, because he was murdered by a jealous woman.

The story is he didn’t play at all, left town, and returned after two years, playing expertly. When asked how he managed that, he replied that he’d sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his guitar skills.

Yes , she's plays pretty decent and is cute. She covers some good songs....she always has this funny smile in between.

My two closest friends and I spent many hours listening to all of it, especially that first one. Hal left us in 89, (Leukemia). Ben had his turn two years ago, (COVID).
