This thing is already flowering after about 7 years. I’ve loved this plant in my front yard and will be bummed to see it go later this summer after it dies.

Hopefully the bloom is just a pup and will last many more years.

I just had to dig mine out of the front yard about 2 years ago. The bloom was somewhere near 20ft tall. It took several hours of digging and the help of the old Excursion with a large yellow tow strap.

I saved 8 of the pumps tho. Kept 3 for myself and gave 5 away.

One of mine is doing real well and the other 2 are doing good but a bit slower growing. I'm told that at least 2 of the ones I gave away are doing well in pots too.

It was a cool thing to see. Sucked having to dig it out

Nope - once this goes off, its done. These are called century plants - they are supposed to take a long time to bloom - but they only boom once.

This one has had too much water and too much sun - in a good way, it just grew really fast.

There are 2 in my yard side by side. Only 1 is putting out the flower. Hopefully being able to leave one Agave will not look as bad. I just really liked this plant it is huge and looks very prominent in the front yard.

I had the eradicate a shit load of them years ago. They are cool until they start to spread like weeds. Mine were huge. Big enough that a backhoe would not pull them out with chopping them into pieces. It's been years since I got rid of them, and I still get them popping up from the massive root system still left behind.

I know how you feel, this was right when I moved into my house before I was able to clean mine up back to the one main plant. I took me 4 full days to get rid of the overgrown colony. I didnt have it cleaned up and actually looking good for but a few months before it bloomed :(

Mine recently bloomed also. Dug them out with a mini excavator and hauled them off.
