Like you I have lived in South County for many years. First time I have seen anything like that. I heard it before I saw it, coming around the curve by the D.P. Yacht Club. I think they just went around the island and back to the trailer.

They're making a wake. I have 1000's of miles of driving in that harbor on a dinghy. Can't recall ever seeing something like that. Pretty much grew up on E dock on the West side of the Island from 94-2005. Who remembers the hotdog stand?

I remember the hot dog stand by the short pier near the marine institute. Used to get a chili dog & a orange juice bar, older gal ran it for years. Good memories!

We have only been back in Huntington Harbor about a year. I live at the Top of La Paz and have several Associations I work in down south. It was super convenient to be slipped there on the island E dock slip 6. There three times a week.

Now it's an hr drive but we're on the fairway and that's seems fairly likeable as long as you can manage the currents in that Harbor. We are not allowed dock rollers either so you need to nail it.

Dana or should I say the County of Orange is turning that place into a mini Newport Beach. Slip rents in the 40 foot range will be $2k or more a month when the after construction fog clears. Sunset Aquatic now has a multi year wait list. Glad we moved when we did. We also really like the shipyard folks 200 yards away.

I also was told by the Marina office when I was turning in our keys that the Sheriff will be terminating 4th of July water wars when construction is over. Find that hard to believe.
