The 2023 Damn Dam Run Executive Committee is pleased to announce the date for this year's event has been set in stone (well, maybe in quick-sand).

Gather up your calendars and mark them all for August 12, 2023. 9:00am at the bouys at Katherine's Landing, 10:00am at the bouys at Cottonwood Cove (this group outta be on the water and ready by 9:30am just in case).

Then uplake with a couple of stops along the way (Zec Com will not announce these stops.....you're on your own to figure out when a buncha boats stop and raft up for a break).

As in the past, the 'Zec Com takes no responsibilites for shirts, drinks, meals, drinks, reservations, drinks, moorage, drinks, BBQ's, drinks, oversleeping captains, drinks, ice, drinks, sunburns, drinks, bad attitudes, drinks, sinkings, drinks, launch ramp lines, drinks or drinks.

A Damn Dam Run sign up thread will follow when the 'Zec Com deems necessary.

That is all........

'Zec Com

Always a good time doing this run but
if that date holds we won't make it this year.
We'll be in Sturgis.

You know what I love about this event?

Without fail I’ll have some life event for this weekend. It probably hasn’t even been planed yet 🤣

Daughter was 6 weeks old last year
Wedding the year before
Out of the country the year before
On and on and on lol.

Fingers crossed this year.

One of my favorite weekends of the year, but I am not sure I'm up for being pulled over by the boat cops two or three times again like last year.

Last year they were calling me saying to cancel my event.. I explained to them not only was it not my event it wasn’t Even an event??

I think they read that first post and read words like committee and just don’t get the joke..

Wait, so “they” got your name and number from a website based on postings and put that all together? 😁

Might actually be able to do this this year.

I agree. Did it last year for the 1st. Just over 124 miles round trip and a great time. Highly recommend for everyone to do once. The 5-8 miles above the kayak parade is the best part.

I plan to do it outside of this group this year. Maybe 3-6 of us. I did it years ago and weather was perfect 110 out and no wind!!! Damn water is cold!!!! Perfect boating day. It’s a long one though especially if you are towing back to havasu

I’ve never done this run before but have always wanted to. How long does it take to go damn to the other damn damn? Is it friendly for us 496HO boats?
Absolutely, two years ago there was a few 21’ V’s and a few 22’ cats as well, i did it four years ago in my 24’ Orion with a 496, burnt 45-50 gallons.

Did it last year with a 496ho cruised about 50-55 the whole time. Made it on about 60 gallons. There is fuel at cottonwood and willow I believe.

Put in at cottonwood then. You’re not missing too much starting there and makes it much more doable. If I had to do it again I’d put in at cottonwood.

You can fuel at both cottonwood and willow.

Yea we’ve done it 5 times, I’ve actually thought about that, just because i don’t care for the rifraft at Katherine’s.

Well it looks like we will be there next year. The wife decided to plan a birthday party that day. Thanks for the insight 👍🏻
