Crazy pursuit on channel 7

Wouldn't it be nice if the news gave us a follow-up story or two about these chases, especially those with significant damage or even death. They go for the thrill and it is over. The other side is that the populace would be really pissed when they found out how little the penalties might be.

I thought the suspect got home before the chase cops were all off shift?

This was one of the craziest pursuits in a while. I was glued to the tv and didn't want to go grab dinner.

I got home a right as it was done and my wife was getting ready to head out the door. I asked “where are you going?” She says “It was make dinner or watch the chase. The chase won.”

Yep. Most of them are lame. But every once in a while there is a real good one. Like the motorhome with the dog standing on the dash board.

I was in Glamis when this took place. That was crazy. Channel 5 had a bit yesterday morning, mentioned the go fund me but nothing about the car jacking.

This guy wasn't released after this pursuit, I will almost guarantee you that. This was not your normal run of the mill caper. You have multiple stolen vehicles, carjacking, ADW on a number of officers, a first degree residential burglary, and thousands in property damage. This guy will be in custody for awhile. He's lucky he didn't get shot and killed by officers when he took the white van. In my opinion, they would have been legally justified in shooting him.

Johnny Anchondo, 33, of Moreno Valley was on parole for attempted carjacking and evading police when he fled police last week, prosecutors said. He faces 18 felony and seven misdemeanor counts.
