Ya, what a b-day present for Ms Jess. A day she'll never forget no doubt. Glad she was spared by the almighty.

Horribly sad all around. The lady had some psychotic break, of what type, who knows. The officer went from trying to be as cordial and helpful as possible, to survival mode, in half a heartbeat. "Jess" witnessed it, and nearly became a victim to the whole scenario as well.

Sadly, the best outcome to a horrible situation.

You just got a glimpse of the emotional crisis that cops have to deal with. He was almost overwhelmed by the situation.
